I have a gut feeling it is going to be day 86. That is what I am projecting. Since you have not gotten in calls at all. I would say everything is in good order. A few of the folks that received their approval got it on day 86.

Where is SDCGO communicating this stuff? I only ever see general "gun control is bad" blog entries, and an occasional newsletter promoting the "Gun Prom" (which is competing for the most cringe-worthy event title ever.)

Yes I can imagine so. Any CCW holder that has the privilege to walk around armed, should change and have the mindset to avoid confrontation at all costs and remember that they are only required to check themselves and loved ones. In a situation like this where you someone stealing from the store, it is definitely in any CCW holders best interest to turn and look the other way.

I am sure you will be fine in regards to not getting involved and avoiding all conflict unless you are in a life or death situation.

I don't think that is accurate. Neither my paper license nor my plastic card have my employer, although they do list an occupation and business address.

I can confirm. For me, neither my plastic or paper license has my employer as well, however, it does have listed my occupation and employer address.

That is awesome. I projected that you would get your approval email on day 86. I am happy to hear that you got it a day early. Congratulations and now all that is left is for you to get your training and pick up your permit.

I have my class scheduled for tomorrow afternoon, so should be all set to make my appointment for pickup by Friday.

You can't request, they issue both now.

Get good high quality holster and belt. You'll likely have to go through a few until you find the one you like.

I have a drawerful.

As for the permit to my knowledge you should receive the credit card license and a paper permit. From what I have been told by friends is the paper license is the critical one to carry and that is the one approved by the DOJ. The credit card one can be carried as a companion to the paper one, but it is not approved by the DOJ as of yet and the paper one is the one you would need to present if a LEO request to see it and validate it.

I currently have 3 holsters. Still looking for a "great" one, but at least I have tried a few.

I'm doing training with Jorge Rodriguez at JRC Consulting. It's a 1-on-1 for a reasonable price. He happens to be close to where I'm located and uses a range where I feel comfortable. Same price as DGM but DGM was booked up through mid July
