Good for them, though "renewals" are really a whole different animal than new applications. Many of use who filed for new ones in the first couple days, are sitting on appointments scheduled for next March and April. GC is not the issue. I'll refrain from a "way to go" comment until we see how they deal with this increase in volume. I'm cautiously optimistic, but not happy yet.

I don’t renew for little while, hope there is no added BS by then. Wish I was renewing now.

Per SDCGO, they have added in more days of the week, not that I can see

As of today, the next open apt is mid May 2023 and each day or so it moves out another week.

These delay tactics are by choice, my brother walked into his local office (Washington State), filled out the form, paid his fee, got he CCW in the mail 7-10 days
Washington's process is a 2 page form, a set of fingerprints, and $54. They run a background check and send you your permit. No class or shenanigans required. Washington, however, is truly "Shall Issue."

It is also my understand that some sheriffs in CA are issuing permits with only four requirements...Must be 21, must live in the county, pass the background check, and take the class. That's how it should be everywhere. But it's probably going to get worse before it gets better. Once the state updates the CCW requirements, there will likely be more requirements that sheriffs must adhere to.

    Perfect!

    Thank you!
