Kern is quicker. I did my renewal course on a Saturday, clicked on the renewal form after 4PM and Monday morning I had my approval email.

05/25/2022: Receive Phone call to amend application at 0700, 1800 Receive phone call, text, and email of approval.
06/05/2022: Scheduled date of CCW initial course

Currently the next available apt is late May and yes only on Mondays as confirmed by the Sheriff dept in an email...

According to SDCGO, they have added days for new apts... haven't seen that yet

I filed on the 24th of June; had an initial date of JAN '23. Checked again in few days and found one for the 11th (this month). Apparently new apps are only being processed on Mondays......

Good for them, though "renewals" are really a whole different animal than new applications. Many of use who filed for new ones in the first couple days, are sitting on appointments scheduled for next March and April. GC is not the issue. I'll refrain from a "way to go" comment until we see how they deal with this increase in volume. I'm cautiously optimistic, but not happy yet.
