Incorrect. My GC was largely based on my occupation and the IA did not ask about/for the company policy on firearms, just whether the CCW was required as part of the work activities (and it was not).

No longer IA policy to restrict time and place.
I was just issued my permit today for work but my employer does not require permit for work.
Zero restrictions listed on license. Nor did I list a need in good cause for specific time frames to carry.
I will carry 24/7.

After receiving your CCW, for anyone looking for CCW-specific skills training (not to be confused with the required licensing training), I highly recommend ITTS and their Concealed Carry Tactics course: https://internationaltactical.com/concealedcarry.html
It's an intermediate/advanced level course, you definitely need to have previously attended formal multi-day training before taking it. But it focuses on dynamic scenarios from concealment at both short range and distance, as well as lowlight scenarios. It’s a very good course to improve your skills (and learn what changes you might want to make to your kit) as a lot of us are CCW’ing regularly for the first time. And for those of you who are familiar with ITTS, you know it's one of the most respected firearms schools around.
It’s up at the Angeles range, about 2-3hrs away from SD depending on traffic. They just had one this past weekend (which I attended) but there’s another one in October that I highly recommend.Comment

Looking for instructor recommendations for the initial CCW course from the official list. From what i've seen on this thread in the last few months folks have mentioned Discount and a couple of other instructors. Recently received my approval so looking to sign up for a class. Any recent experiences/reviews appreciated.
Thanks.Benitez - "the Second Amendment is not a 'loophole' that needs to be closed."Comment

I'll second my own recommendation for DGM. An informative, low-key, class and qualification session without the all too common instructor ego issues.I wish today's liberals could understand: You cannot be generous by giving away other peoples' money and you cannot demonstrate your virtue by your willingness to give up other peoples' rights.

Thanks! that certainly seems to be the consensus from all the posts. Looking forward to finally getting it done and completing the process.
For those that took it at Discount, do you recall what target is used for the quals? Is it the NRA B-27?Last edited by ncrotalus; 05-10-2019, 7:53 AM.Benitez - "the Second Amendment is not a 'loophole' that needs to be closed."Comment

Just got a call from SD Sheriffs, they are working Saturdays(!), my interview got bumped up from November to July! The conversation was pleasant and very friendly. I spoke to Christina, she mentioned that if you are on the fence about more than one good cause you can bring a different version just in case. The first interview is still done in person.

I used James Murphy, and I literally could not have been happier with his training, his attitude, his approach, and his personality.Looking for instructor recommendations for the initial CCW course from the official list. Good evening to all of you! I am new to the forum but have a few questions for all of you regarding the CCW process in San Diego. Had my second interview on May 7th, 2019 and was told the wait for approval would be 30 to 45 days.
I was told by an employee at my local gun shop that some approvals were coming back in less than three weeks, have any of you heard of that?
My background is completely clean and my just cause is warranted, just curious what some you may have heard about the process speeding up.
Thanks in advance for your replies!Comment

It's nice that they were able to capture him on camera lying through his teeth. Good Cause is whatever HE says Good Cause, and nothing else. HE can define it as broadly or narrowly as HE wants to all by himself.Comment

Oh, gosh. I help out so many people in so many anti counties, it is hard to keep things straight (since this is NOT my job (i.e., detracts from earning $$$) and I don't live in those counties....), but IIRC, a few SD folk made posts recently somewhere that the SO was holding interviews on Sats now and people are getting their interviews pushed way ahead than originally planned (i.e., a LOT sooner).Good evening to all of you! N.B. I spent a few minutes looking at different threads in different forums but could not find the posts so maybe I'm hallucinating....
