I wanted to ask you a little about your experience with the CCW progress since you got your in the mail recently. I have my appointment to see them on 1/31/2022.
What can I expect to happen in that appointment and how best can I be prepared for it! Is this is when you find out if your approved for the CCW or no?
over application and made a couple amendments. 2nd, fingerprints, 3rd,
picture taken. i brought a copy of my application and passports, good cause,
everything but didn't need anything. everyone was very nice and asked if i
had any questions.
edit: i dressed business casual, don't think its required, but i wanted to look like
not a weirdo whatever unworthy of a ccw. i dress *really* casual most of the time,
def put effort into looking the upstanding citizen part, for the interview.
over all, it seems like they've gone "shall issue" but have to do it through
the lens of gavin newsom's perverted worldview.
i was told if you get to the interview, fingerprinted and pictured, your good
so long as nothing wonky in your background. see my past posts for my
experience.
glad to see everyone else [finally] getting their permits in the mail, damn it
felt like such a long time after getting approved and i had all the questions.
the initial wave of excitement is wearing off, and am learning what works
clothingwise so that i don't feel like i'm exposing all the time. bought a
nexbelt and i like it. i was always intending on carrying at 4 o'clock but
appendix is making more sense now.
def getting my money's worth and even though most of my daily routine is
at home, always wearing my ccw now.
edit: been diligent in not telling anyone i got permitted except for a few select people.
kinda seems like even a couple that i told i was approved already forgot.
all good, certainly inspiring others to go for it.Last edited by pewanon; 01-24-2022, 2:14 PM.Comment

You guys on here is absolutely legends!! Thanks al lot for the insight.
I bought my nexbelt Already too. Haven’t wore it yet though.
The thing is for me, I’m a gym rat but I took sometime from the gym because of Covid and started back October last year but I had gain a lot of weight cause I was eating everything and not working outbut since October I lost few lbs while keeping as much muscle as I can.
However I was trying my Glock 19 in appendix position and I feel like it was showing more than when I had it at 4oclock position. Maybe because I don’t have a holster yet to try it with. My thing is I don’t know which one I want but I don’t want to spend a lot of money and then hear from the sheriffs office than they won’t grant my CCW based on historically they didn’t use to give out CCW.
However, I am feeling more confident and encouraged since more people been getting their CCW. Honestly I was planning and going in business attire, shirt and tie kind of thing. I want to make sure they don’t have any doubt at all in the back of their head when it comes to upstanding citizen
Idk if my background check is done yet though. I submitted my application on 1/7 this year and got the appointment to see them on the 1/31 so I’m hoping my background check will be done by then. Im just hoping that the whole
Process is completed before the new sheriff is elected and they try to stop the approving of CCW then.Last edited by Jambitiongainer; 01-24-2022, 2:38 PM.Comment

Thanks everyone for the insight, it’s much appreciated.
I don’t have anything negative in my background. Don’t have a ticket, not even a speeding ticket from the cops so I’m hoping when they see how clean my record is they won’t have any doubts on approving my application.
What’s the average wait time for to see if you get approve or not?Comment

I've had great training experiences with Kyle Dau at Discount Gun Mart on Morena Bl.I wish today's liberals could understand: You cannot be generous by giving away other peoples' money and you cannot demonstrate your virtue by your willingness to give up other peoples' rights.
The more time I spend on this forum, the more sense kcbrown makes.

MClaren Defence for North SD County CCW training (renewal). I have been NRA trainer in past and comp shooter. I've used Larry Renner (PlusPProficiency) in past but he retired and also Bill Murphy. Both are top notch. This guy Bill MClaren did grand but the price was diffinitely right for this penny pinchin Irishman! $100. for 4 guns included, no range fees at Iron Sight, out the door. Good guy and gives you coffee and pencils and pens. No reloads to qualify. I ended up shooting only 15 rds per weapon. So I'm as happy as a pup with 2 tails. I should probably buy a new gun with the $ I saved.Last edited by marcusrn; 01-26-2022, 3:18 PM.sigpicComment
