WTF is wrong with CGN and why can't it be fixed ?

It just feels like this site isn't a priority to the owner(s) anymore and they took the money and ran. Just jump ship to caguns - there has been 0 issues over there even with the increased traffic and the site is much easier to navigate and search classifieds. It really is sad what has become of this site. Sell it if you don't care about it anymore

Without any info you think the owner “took the money and ran”. While I agree the “Other” site runs faster and may be the new place to go to buy and sell, it does not have the history, the deep membership, nor the gun knowledge of many long time Calgunners. I started my gun ownership on this site and it has been well worth the yearly “Contributor” donations I make.

If all you want is a fast website to buy and sell, then go to that site for your buying and selling. I’m sticking around here for the knowledge base.

My experience lately has been good in the mornings into early afternoon (like right now). Mid afternoon to early evening is mostly 504 errors (Gateway Timeout). Then OK again late evening.

It seems to be working at the moment @5:12 pm. It went down around 2-3. It hasn't worked for me at this time in a long time.

Total speculation, but my guess is since it's mostly volunteers working on it, they work on it after they get out of work. Put it back up after a little bit so people can use it.

The last three weeks the "Log in / Sign up" screen has been popping up even though I'm already on. Just changing pages can invokes it. Although it's annoying it easy enough to by pass by just hitting the back arrow on your browser. You may have to do it a couple of times. Don't try to sign back in, your are already in, but for what ever reason, that annoying page randomly pops up.

Since I never sign out, if the back arrow doesn't work, I just leave the site and hop back on.

Latest weird issue is that with every reply, post or clicking on a new page, I'm getting 'you are not authorized to view that page' even though I'm logged in. Just started today. Refreshing the page then opens it to where I was.

Or in creating a reply or post, it gives me a weird error message " Error ! Error information: " 0 error ", freezes, then refreshing the page nails the post. I'm logged in the entire time, clicked 'remember me' or whatever, when signing in.

A whole new game of unnecessary glitch.
