WTF is wrong with CGN and why can't it be fixed ?

I don’t know what changed but over the past week every time I visited CGN it loaded!



Now if it would require me to log in only once to log on….

(I fill in my user name, tab the password field for it to automatically enter my password, then I hit log on and nothing changes. So I have to repeat all that and then it logs me on. Minor annoyance.)

It's been working more consistently for me too. Not 100% but way better than before.

I wonder what all the naysayers and whiners are going to complain about now that the site seems to be running fairly well. Oh yeah itrader ratings gone.
I’ve thought about that for awhile and while I will miss my transaction reviews, I’ve bought and sold with over 40 transactions and never had a bad experience. Didn’t matter is buyer Or seller had 100 positives or just 1, all transactions went well.

So let’s celebrate CaLguns up and running and give the management props for not giving up on us.

Running well? It still has frequent problems, 504s, and failures to post. Saying it's running well is like celebrating fuel prices dropping to $3.50 a gallon after they skyrocketed from $2.45/g to $5 and thinking they "went down".

The chocolate ration has been increased from 30 to 20 grams!

5,496 users online at 8:55pm PST so something must be working good enough. I change the display style (lower left button) to “Default” and it seems to work ok on my iPad. Better than weeks ago for sure.

There are still issues but ive been able to get on 98% of the time over the last week and a half. Making progress

Why are some of us having such a hard time getting it to work? I just want to be able to view the freakin threads and make posts, check my messages etc. Even if there was a lag I would be okay with it but I routinely get the 504 gateway errors.

Are you viewing from an iPad or iPhone or from a desktop computer? I have had better luck with a desktop computer

There has been notable improvement in site performance over the last week or so for most members. That doesn't mean it's completely fixed nor does it mean that members aren't still getting Gateway errors, among other, lesser frustrations. Some of it likely has to do with the technology a given member is using. Some of it is likely due to timing in terms of when you try to access the site. Some of likely has to do with holding your mouth right.

The bottom line is that the site is now, functional for most members, much of the time. It's still a long way from 'running perfectly' and no amount of 'impatience' is going to alter that. Many are 'encouraged' that the functionality demonstrates some progress has been made and that someone is actually working on it. Patience and persistence is the only 'key' (if you can call it that) which any of us has found.

Well, the classifieds is still up and running strong. Probably the most posts per day on the entire site.

When I try to go into the inbox in the message center, the site always times out. Also, everything takes really long to load. I wonder if the ISP is restricting the traffic since this site involves our favorite items. sounds like many of your are not experiencing problems. I am. Every time I log in. And I live in the heart of the Silicon Valley, not rural.

I never use my phone for CGN, only desktop. I have heard others talk about clearing all the cookies/data for this site on your browser to start fresh. I haven't had to do that but I use brave so it only allows cookies necessary for the site and blocks all others. Its been working much better for the past 2 weeks. Today for me its almost been working flawless but that is just going to threads and posting and does not include using PM's, which I rarely use.
