Haha everytime my freinds invite me to go and drink and pitch in for Booze i always say "hmmm this 40 bucks or wtv is that much more that i can put towards another gun" so i say no, do some studying and save my 40 bucks then after they all get CHit faced 10 times I go and buy another pistol, well i get an Intra family transfer lol

whats the point of getting a HSC card?

Some may say that the HSC is stupid and a waste of time but I tink it is completely necessary. Its just a test to see if you contain the knowledge and display enough competence to own, use and care for a handgun. Frankly, IMO, if you fail the test, you have no business with firearms.
          Dear California,
I love you. I was born and raised in you. You have given me some of the best times of my life. Now with that said, I can not wait to move!

I know waht it is lol, but it seemes to not have a purpose until your 21, and I know the test isnt hard at all so why not just test on that day?

HSC is needed if a handgun were to be gifted to someone over 18. I took the HSC at Fort Courage Armory a bit over a year ago. It is ridiculously easy, so easy it seems like the only reason they have it is to weed out those who can't read english. It is so easy I am sure a child can pass it, the DMV test is harder.

Good to see there are others out there my age who don't feel like they need to abuse alcohol. Often I feel like I am the only one.

I'm going to buy it from her when I turn 21, but just a heads up I couldn't shoot for crap with those gi sights.
                  +1

I have the GI as well, and I lose the sights in the black of the target.

As Josh said above, it is needed if you were to initiate the OpLaw process. Those of us who have already taken the HS test, most likely have gained possession of handguns through a death or as a gift from a family member.

I have 9 months to go, till end of November. I'm torn between a 1911 and a Jericho for my first pistol, leaning towards Jericho because every one has a 1911. When I was 18 I bought 1 oz of gold to be my gun saving, I know I'd spend it if it was in a savings account. Bought it when it was $600 now worth $950, probably buy range membership and reloading stuff with whats left over from the gun I'll purchase.
