As long as you have the right guy and have two guns to use in the meantime, your good. I hate getting rid of guns myself.

Why? As a Pastor, I find MOST weddings to be overdone, overwrought, & were it not for me putting MY foot down, most wouldn't even qualify as vaguely Christian.

Granted, yours may not be a church or a Christian wedding - here was some good advice a colleague of mine posted about weddings not too long ago. Don't know if it'll save your guns, or save you money, but it's food for thought, at least.

Thanks for the article. Both me and my fiance are not religious. We are getting married at a golf course. Let me clear up the very expensive part......it is very expensive for me. I am NOT spending $50k....more like $15k. And we are getting some help from both sets of parents. But my fiance is out of work for 2 months.....so that is why we lack funds for our wedding....otherwise we would have no problem paying it off, and we wouldn't have to sell some of the firearms.

Yeah, I am hoping 2 guns will hold us over for 3 months. But no rifle!!! My weapon of choice.....

But, hopefully I can pick up another AR, MSAR STG556, and M1A with some wedding money I get! So maybe this is a good thing hahaha.

Various cultures do them - Becoming more popular here in the states and giving money in lieu of a toaster is much more welcome -

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding Lulu. Sorry you have to sell some guns, but it sounds like you have your priorities in order. $15K for wedding is reasonable these days? Good to know because I have a daughter. My husband and I kept our wedding small and spent our meager funds on an incredible honeymoon, because that was our priority. It's up to you to make your dreams happen.

Everyone has their own opinion. We love each other more then we love our guns

Plus, it is a good excuse to get even better rifles and handguns this next time around lol.

We already live together and have everything....so we are registering for a honeyfund where people give cash towards a honeymoon...we are downgrading our honeymoon so we have money left over for guns heh.
                        Congrats & Kudos!

                            Congratulations on the pending nuptials!

Don't worry, this is one day to start a future - the guns you sold you can buy back later down the road. This is a special day for the both of you. Cherish that.

But my wedding is a complete package. So I pay one lump sum for the ceremony, reception, food, flowers, etc.

I will buy more guns again after my wedding....it just sucks that I have to get rid of the first guns I ever owned....
Not to worry. Go to you future father-in-law and tell him that your family has a custom going back several hundred years. If the groom pays for the wedding, the new in-laws must buy weapons to protect their daughter. I'm sure this will work, lol.
It's a good thing I don't have to sell my guns to stay married. I would just buy more.
