not true at all! the quicken willmaker route is DIY and cheap. and even paying an attorney, iirc, is like 600-1000. considering the money people spend on optics and uppers, its not much to be allowed to play with a whole new class of weapon!
i think telling us he got his SOT is just damning a whole lot of people to being in trouble with their significant other if anything LOLSCALIA: WTF are you talking about? We can incorporate it under due process. I hate due process and I even think that.
GURA: Uhhh
SCALIA: Are you trying to get a job at a law school?
GURA: ....Oh s***
SCALIA: SERIOUSLY STFU IF WE USE PRIVILEGES AND IMMUNITIES THESE F***OS WILL LEGITIMIZE EVERYTHING STFU STFU STFU
GURA: But you hate due process
SCALIA: I LIKE IT NOWComment

Mike got his SOT in order to sell to the public, not for LEO sales. His post was not a, "look what I have and you don't". People have been looking for a SoCal SOT willing to deal with the public for a couple years, and now we have one. WOO-HOO!!
As mentioned, getting a trust set up isn't that hard to do.Last edited by ke6guj; 02-18-2010, 11:50 AM.Jack
Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

I was referring to most of the things the SOT deals with (i.e. MG's silencers AW's etc.) AOW is just a small backwater of the SOT world.not true at all! the quicken willmaker route is DIY and cheap. and even paying an attorney, iirc, is like 600-1000. considering the money people spend on optics and uppers, its not much to be allowed to play with a whole new class of weapon!

Or corporation. The only downside to that route is there is a minimum tax in California of $800 on corporations. But if you already have one..... Also we are working on finding a local attorney that will help with NFA trusts at a reasonable cost. For the do it yourselfers there is always quicken willmaker. There are plenty of NFA boards that will show you what to change in the trust.
Mike
I was informed of this at SHOT Show and would like to say thank you for providing this much-needed service. I plan to stop by at the next opportunity to offer you medical gear (trauma kits) to resell and oogle the NFAocity. I was planning to go the NFA Trust route, but the CLEO signoff sounds intriguing. Does the CLEO have to be for the city or county you live in, or just any?
edit: I read further: Is this an 'or' or 'and' situation with CLEO signoff? i.e. Trust + CLEO <or> Trust -or- CLEOLast edited by Blueberry556; 03-11-2010, 7:01 PM.Comment

Its Trust OR CLEO. Allowable CLEO sign-offs include the Sheriff of your County, The Chief of Police of your city, and various other people, such as the DA of your County, Judges that hear felony cases, and other people that ATF may accept a signature from. If you have a Trust, you do not need a CLEO sign-off.I was informed of this at SHOT Show and would like to say thank you for providing this much-needed service. those are legal in CA. Items just like that have been been imported, bought, or had made in CA legally.Jack

I might have to get into this SOT thing. I think I want a 12" shotgun for my CCW permit.
Where is the mega AOW thread. I think I need to start getting into the SOT business. We need a north of LA source.Last edited by tenpercentfirearms; 03-12-2010, 6:52 AM.www.tenpercentfirearms.com was open from 2005 until 2018. I now own Westside Arms.Comment
