            SanDiego FFL out-of-state, non-roster intrafamilial

Looking for a San Diego FFL that will do a gifted, out-of-state, non-roster pistol transfer via interfamilial transfer for a reasonable price.

My mom is gifting me a pistol - leaning towards a XDs - & want to have all of my ducks in a row before she purchases it from the Cabela's near her. I've called around & most, like my previous FFL, believe that it can no longer be done since PC27870 expired at the end of 2014.

            Thank you in advance

Thanks for the assist. I was able to find 2, both of whom are nearby and I hadn't heard of before. FYI, they are Gussler's and Honey Badger Firearms.

Having some serious BS with my local FFLs about purchasing a firearm that is listed on the DOJ Roster. I'm hoping an FFL on here near LA/OC could help me with this.

I wanted a Sig Sauer P250C Compact. That is on the list. Problem is, only the version with the stainless steel slide is listed. I've been told I cannot legally purchase the black version by the DOJ. Of course, they conveniently forgot that the stainless steel slide model is DISCONTINUED, and no longer available.

                  THIS is the firearm -

The serial number is on the firing control unit. The other parts of the firearm can be sold in CA as they are considered accessory parts (slide, grip, barrel, etc.) and don't need DROS checks. So I need an FFL who will help me with purchasing just the FCU, nothing else. Any takers? I am a civilian - not LE or military. This is turning into a nightmare just to buy a firearm which is rostered...

Unless I'm mistaken, identical firearms with different finishes each need to be listed separately?

The pistol has to be AS TESTED. The item in the pic you have is not what Sig sent DOJ . They were sent a complete pistol with a model # and a SKU#. Only that combination of parts is Rostered

You only option is to find the rostered unit and DROS it then swap parts

Only the exact version that is on the certified list can be transferred if the person is not exempt (.ie LEO). A frame, or FCU, is not allowed.

A difference in color, grips or even engraving means that the firearm is not considered to be on the certified list. This means that a frame does not match anything on the list. It does not matter that the version on the list is not made anymore.

In other words, based on what you said, what you want can't be done legally. That is just the way it is in CA.

Thanks, it is about 1 hour 10 minutes from him.

SBR was his first choice but they said no.
