I am very new to this site and this probably isn't the right way to ask. One of my family members cant own firearms anymore and is trying to get it transferred and registered to me. How would i go about this? Also i live in California..

There is a form which can be filled out giving a person power of attorney to sell the firearms, which then could be used to transfer the firearms, specifically handguns which are not on the roster. Otherwise, the firearm could just be delivered/shipped to a FFL and then transferred like any other firearm.Kemasa.

If anyone in the IE needs a transfer dealer let me know as I am an 07. I can also do PPTs early in the mornings or late at night by appointment only.
Out of state transfers are $50 and that is including DROS.
I'm in Alta Loma, 210 and Archibald.Last edited by Baboosh; 02-04-2014, 11:14 AM.Just a normal guyComment

If you come out to Simi Valley, the sales tax is lower, 7.5% instead of 9.5% or so.Kemasa.

Hi All,
I am looking for an FFL to do a SSE on a Colt 45 New Agent I bought on Gunbroker from a shop in Indiana.
I live in the Chino/Corona area and trying to find one somewhat close.
I tried OC Armory but they have not returned any of my email requests and are not taking phone calls (not sure if they are open anymore or just too busy for these)
Any contacts would be appreciated, Thanks...Timsigpic Colt .45, Because they don't make a .46 and shooting twice is just Silly. Let the Ponies run Wild!

I am looking for an ffl in sfv that does not charge sales tax on a ppt of a longun shipped from ca to ffl in sfv and the fees are $75 total. Fort courage charges tax and oaktree demands that you join the gun club for $300 to have a gun shipped to them for dros.Comment

It is not a PPT if it is shipped.
If the firearm is coming from inside CA, then there would not be any sales tax required to be collected. If it is coming from outside of CA then it is subject to sales tax and failing to pay the sales tax would be a problem.
I checked with Fort Courage and it seems that there was a bit of confusion. There are many issues with sales tax and it is easy to not understand the whole situation. If the FFL knows that it is from in CA, a private sales, an occasional sale and not from a business, with a letter to document that, then sales tax would not apply.Last edited by kemasa; 05-13-2014, 4:05 PM.Kemasa.
