Mailed in FFL, completed Livescan and submitted COE - 2/18
ATF cashed check - 3/1
Incomplete notice email from CA DOJ - 3/8 (Sent reply same day)
COE approved - 3/9
FFL arrived in mail - 3/13

Definitely a lot easier and faster than I was expecting. Much thanks to everyone for the help!

I was filling out the COE form, and if it wasn't for this forum pointing out the 'pre-filled' version, it would have been impossible. I could find no link or pointer to it from the DOJ site, only by searching for "BOF 4008" on their own site.

4/27 Sent out COE & FF03
5/3 ATF charged debit card
5/5 Email from DOJ stating I need to provide FFL03, told them I am in the process for FFL03
5/12 COE COMPLETE
Will update when I receive my FFL 03 in the mail. COE portion was so fast compared to others

Question, I applied for COE and FFL03, approved for the COE with no issues but going on several weeks and finally received a packet from the ATF today but I?m confused on the contents.

Two forms were included,
3310 (federal firearms licensee firearms inventory, theft loss report)
5300 (application for an amended federal firearms license)
A couple announcement pages and a printed atf website page??

Trying to figure out is this package something usual they send out if approved or did I F- something up in the original application?

That packet comes before actual license arrival for me. Overall wait was couple of months for me back in the day.

Anyone know how to verify an approval/disapproval with the ATF? It’s been a solid three months since the charged my CC and still nothing.

Towards the bottom of this link https://www.atf.gov/firearms/federal-firearms-licenses there are (is?) a phone number and an email address to check application status.

Took me about a month to get both COE and FFL03. I am in North Bay (Marin County)

7/2 Did my Live Scan at my local UPS store and Send out my applications for FFL03
7/7 My credit card was charged by ATF for the $30 fee
7/20 COE asked me via email on why am I applying this and what is my FFL number, I replied saying I need COE for my FFL03
7/23 COE approved
8/1 Received my FFL03 in the mail
