    I never inform on FFL's to LE. I simply vote with my wallet and and advise anyone I can to avoid these FFL's as well. I am curious to what DOJ thinks about the full safe thing though.

      Two very good FFL, I have used for PPT are the Gun Room in Elk Grove, they are very efficient; and the Sacramento Gun Club, who I have used for both PPT and FFL transfers.

          Looks like many gunshops discourage customers with PPT. Some only do on a certain date or day with appointment only, some you will have to wait a long time because they only have one employee allowed to do the PPT, and some simply bypass you for cash customers and have you wait long time until they decided to do the PPT.

          I just leave and go to another gunshop.

              I just ppt'd 2 stripped lowers. Went to the counter with the buyer, the gal behind the counter asks "Can I help you?" and I tell her I would like to ppt these stripped lowers to this gentleman next to me. She looked at me and rolled her eyes, looks at the buyer and says to him, "We do have stripped lowers for sale for $69.00"...

              I thought that comment along with the eye roll was very rude and that will cost them my buisness from now on...

                    If this was a one-time thing then that sucks, but the way the guy explained it was not "we ran out of room in our safe for today and can't do PPT's for long guns right now." It was more like "we never do long gun PPT's because we don't want to take up the room in our safe."

                    I came in 2 hours before they close. I took off work early. Both the seller and I contacted them to confirm if they do PPT's, even though I had done pistol PPT's there in the past. I didn't think to clarify "long gun PPT" (my fault, I guess).
                    It's NOT your fault. The douche on the phone should have explained it (whether it's BS or not).

                          Just found this in another (similar) thread. It's old (dated 2001), but does anyone know if it's still valid?

                          Firearms dealers are required to conduct private party transfers pursuant to Penal Code section 12071(b)(5). Dealers may not limit the days or hours in which private party transfers are conducted.

                            Just Guns in Sac was a pleasant experience for a PPT. I was buying a stripped lower.
                            Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

                              As if it isn't hard enough to deal with all the California legal/political BS already, now I have to deal with this?

                              I have purchased many guns from this store, and even done one or two handgun PPT's in the past, but they have lost my business forever.

                              <end rant>
                              I dunno, but seems like a bit of over reaction. You say they do PPTs, you've done PPTs there. You both called and they confirmed they do PPTs. They just couldn't accommodate more long guns that day.

                              Or is there some reason you think they were lying and just didn't want to do a PPT because it was a long gun? That wouldn't make sense. At the same time, it doesn't make sense they couldn't squeeze one more gun in their safe.

                              I guess I'll call the management to discuss before I wrote them off. Maybe you just got a jerk employee and the management needs to know. Guess I feel every business deserves a chance to hear about customer service issues.

                                Yes, it's part of the rules for having an FFL. If they don't want their license anymore they can stop following the rules.
