Disappointed in LGS for Refusing PPT

Or maybe you came in 30 minutes before closing time and wanted to do a ppt?
Was this at City Arms East?

Oh stop taking up for them... I believe they are REQUIRED by law to do PPTs...

If they want to act this way then they deserve to be boycotted.... True to OP's post, they should not be treating legal California buyers and sellers this way...

Yes sir, That is some straight up b******t. As I understand it, and please CG experts correct me if I'm wrong here, but this is also a direct violation of the terms of their FFL in CA.

Well, it depends. The law says that you have to put the request in writing, so if you don't do that technically they don't have to do them. I am not sure if the CA DOJ demands that the request is in writing or just threatens them if you report them.

I've seen a few PPT whiner FFL's mention the in writing thing before. Really how does that scare me or make me not do one? If they really want me to do it in writing I will. I'll even do it in hieroglyphics on a papayrus scroll if they want. But why on earth would they want to add even more time and paperwork and piss off someone who spends many thousands a year on guns and all the accoutrements for them?

That's BS and you know it. They didn't say "sorry, we only accept PPT's in writing." They told me they don't do long gun PPT's. They even have a sign on the wall.

Bottom line, I completed my PPT elsewhere. Surprisingly, it was the easiest PPT I've ever done, I was in-and-out in 20 minutes AND that included spending 5 minutes to buy a 2016 hunting license (since my 2015 license expired between CAE rejecting my PPT and coming in on a holiday weekend to do this PPT). It was just 2 blocks away from City Arms East at Big 5.

I suggest others do the same.

It is the law. They should not do that, nor is there a requirement that they tell you what you have to do for them to violate the law. But it is the way it is.

LOL, next time anyone is in their store try to get a good look behind that door to the back. I have been there on half a dozen occasions to do a PPT and have seen firearms piled up back there so the no room in the safe seems odd.
