    yes

but in many cases, the lifestyle is paid for by the church as expenses, and not from the salaries.

      Just wondering.
      No.

The overwhelming percentage of Pastors are paid peanuts. 60+ hour weeks and $30K a year with no benefits is typical.

The rule of thumb is that a Pastor should be paid approximately the same or the average of the wages of his Deacon or Elder board.

It would be nice if even half of the pastors out there could make that much, but few do.

Some of you may have already heard about Creflo Dollar, the pastor of Atlanta's giant World Changers Church International, asking for financial help to "achieve our goal to purchase the Gulfstream G650 airplane."

What is Mormonism? What do Mormons believe? How are the beliefs of Mormons different from the beliefs of Christians?

In our Christian Church, the pastor's pay isn't specified in the budget, but is rolled into the general category of "salaries and benefits". We only have 2 people on paid staff. That being said, if any member in the congregation wanted to know, it is their right to know and we would fully disclose it in the interest of running a transparent operation.

The entire budget of our church, with great detail, is reviewed and approved annually by any voting members that care to participate. The pastor is called and supported by the congregation. It is the latter that is responsible for the operational business of the church with input of but not control by the pastor. Members of the church counsel are not paid and freely contribute their work. I think that in our area it is not easy to get by on what the pastor earns and considering what he puts into it.
