How are you finding out when everything is sent/received? Are you only able to see this after receiving your registration paperwork?

Yes, just listing the dates from the e mails I received and printed dates on the letter and envelope.

One off the shelf Complete Rifle and the rest were stripped lowers I assembled. All AR style.

Anyone have a quick link to Saiga 12 gauge options, please?

Hard to read through 10,000 posts to HOPEFULLY find what I am looking for.

          Thanks!

Hopefully you're ok - if they do kick it back please let me know
One of mine was PPT and I followed the guide instructions of listing FFL info. My process is done, letter in hand, with no kickback for that particluar reason.
Nehemiah 4:13-18 I stationed the families at our vulnerable spots with their weapons. The men worked in shifts to rebuild our walls; one half worked while the other half guarded. Each of the workers had his weapon either at his side or in his hand while he worked.

Was it pre 2014 or post 2014?

Are you looking to register it, or avoid registering it? Also, did you buy it after 2016?

If it was bought before 2017 and has a BB, registration is roughly the same as for a rifle, just follow the steps in the first post.

If you're looking to avoid registration, see this thread: Options to avoid registration with semi auto shotguns converted Saiga 12 & Vepr 12's?

IF you bought it between Jan 1, 2017 and late July 2017, it puts you in an awkward position... because it was legal to purchase with a BB in that configuration during that timeframe, but became an AW via new DOJ regulations in late July last year, months AFTER the cutoff for when you had to own it to be eligible for registration. Honestly, I have no clue what to do in that case, but the safest thing to do is make it featureless (if that's even possible, I'm not sure*) or make the magazine fixed (also not sure if that's possible, sorry I'm not that familiar with those shotguns*). I would NOT recommend attempting to register a legally-purchased BB-equipped shotgun that was purchased in 2017, since the regulations clearly say that nothing purchased after 2016 may be registered, and attempting to do so could very likely result in a knock on your door, and your weapon being taken into custody "while it gets sorted out" (ie, until you pony up more money than the gun is worth for a lawyer to get it back for you). That exact thing has already allegedly happened to someone trying to register a rifle they bought in 2017.

                * ETA: See DiscoGodFather's post below, good information regarding compliance/non-registration options for these shotguns, I'm not very familiar with that shotgun platform myself

Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

Semi shotguns need to be registered if they are fed by a magazine and have a pistol grip. No way to convert to featureless for these Saiga / Vepr 12's, it's one of the little slights they but into the regs and is one of the things Michel and Associates lawsuit focuses on.

There is a product available called the Maglatch 12 that basically converts the shotgun into a bolt action by plugging the gas port. That's the only way to make it CA Legal and NOT have to reg'd to remain legal. The product is legit and not a BB v2.0 like "grey area".

They literally made up law and made underground regulation at the same time, and the Michel letter has a page or two devoted to this silly extra-tyranny with regards to these types of semi shotguns.

Just got my confirmation email this week for an 80% pistol I built. Will let you know when I get the letter for time estimates. Got a correction email after about a month asking me to put my name in the comments for the build and to check the second grip box. Took about 7-10 days from that correction to get the email telling me to look in the mail. Hopefully those emails continue to mean an approval letter is in the works

Just an FYI and a reminder - the current lead time for getting serials from DOJ is 4 weeks.

Expect that lead time to increase as deadline approaches. There's still time, if you request serials now and get them in 4 weeks, you'll have 6 weeks to engrave them and submit your registration. But in 2 weeks, if the lead time for obtaining serials stretches to 8 weeks (which is entirely possible) you might miss the deadline.
Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

Ok, sounds like that one reported instance of DOJ not accepting the FFL info for a PPT firearm was just an overzealous DOJ staffer, then.

So, I can still get a serial for a home brewed AKM?

Can someone verify if this information is correct:

                              1) AR pistol barrel minimum is 6.5
                              2) AR pistol OAL cannot exceed 26 inches

                              Thanks

My understanding is that minimum barrel length is 4 inches, max is 15.9 inches for a pistol.

As for OAL, I believe 26 inches is the maximum under federal law before it is considered a "firearm" as opposed to concealable pistol. It could still be a pistol under California law.
