    I have no idea.

It's possible nobody has tried. It's also possible that people have tried, and never posted their results here because the results were really, really bad.

If I were you I wouldn't take the chance. The consequences of being wrong are really severe, and DOJ has been taking it very seriously when people try registering things that DOJ doesn't think should be registered.
Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

Yep, you were right. Got the email too about 10 minutes later. I was surprised it was that fast. Thanks.

Quick question: Has anyone received their letter but not gotten the application accepted email? My impression is there are 3 emails 1) Payment accepted 2) Application accepted 3) Application approved (people say it means a letter will xome soon)

I submitted 4-16-2018... only got payment accepted email. Never received the other 2.

I also just changed address.. so put an issue in.. they let me change and then kicked back my arsenal ak-pattern wanting it to say izmash saiga. I did that a week ago and they just went back to in progress but no emails.

So... has anyone received a letter.. but only got the payment confirmation?

Even more dumb that their registration system has your gun as an "M4 Carbine" instead of the correct "DDM4V5", but who are we to question the wisdom of the almighty CA Department of Justice?

Check your spam filter in your email, maybe they were sending you emails and your email filter blocked them out. You got your RAW letter at least, and that's what counts.

I believe there have been several occurrences of people receiving their letters but not the email confirmations.

Sorry.. wasnt sure how to quote on my phone. They are not in spam.. and I have no indication letters are coming nor have I received any.

I saw people say a third party did.. but dont remember a first-hand account. Ive been trying to stay up to date on all posts to this thread.. I apologize if I missed a first-hand account.

There are only 2 emails, not 3. The payment one, and the "application accepted" one. The 2nd one is a de facto approval, even though it doesn't exactly say that (it says "you'll be notified of your results by US Mail").

That's interesting that you heard nothing from them, then asked them to open it to make a change, then they processed it immediately after you made the change. It appears that when you have them open your app for editing, then resubmit it, it moves your app to the front of the line.

Anyways, don't stress, almost everyone's apps are taking forever right now.

What was the Arsenal AK pattern you had to change? I have a SAM7R I put as Arsenal so am wondering if I should change it ahead of them asking for it?

I was intending to register my 2016 home built 80% pistol until I read this. Now I'm not so sure... Considering fixed mag options now.

I would not register any pistols unless you are 100% sure that what you have is legal, you should not take a "I'll just try it and see what happens" approach to this.

And I don't understand the pistol laws well enough to be able to conclusively tell anyone that theirs are 100% legal. There are some other threads about AR pistols that might be helpful

Thanks for the input. I am confident that I followed the letter of the law. But I'm still concerned about overzealous enforcement of these obtuse regulations.

                                Is this timeline normal?

                                - 3/4 Submitted application with 4 rifles
                                - 3/6 kicked back for caliber issue (not marked on receiver)
                                - 3/7 added photo of barrel with caliber marked
                                - 3/8 received submission confirmation email
                                - 4/4 kicked back again for manufacturer name issue (used what was on the DROS form but they requested it be changed). Submitted correction same day.
                                - 4/5 received submission confirmation email again

The status on all 4 is "In Progress" and I have not heard anything since the 4/5 "submission confirmation" email.

Anyone else having their application take this long?
