Hello, if I keep a cable lock on my gun does that count as being secured so others in my house do not need to register as co-registrants?

      Thank you

More people have experienced that than what you experienced, so that's why the guide still says it.

Unfortunately DOJ has been inconsistent with some of this stuff so it's impossible to fill out the form in a way that guarantees DOJ will approve it. Some stuff appears to largely depend on who at DOJ processes the app.
This was exactly my experience. On mine factory marked "5.56/.223" I initially registered "5.56" and then got a notice to change it to "multi." I don't know if it was because I wrote in the comments that the firearm uses interchangeable barrels regarding both length and caliber.

My timeline: 41 days between registration and kickback; 3 days between correction and email saying my final letter is on its way.

Any ideas if my lower does not indicate any caliber nor does my barrel what I should put?

Your barrel must say the caliber on it somewhere... are you sure it's not just covered by the handguard?

Nearly all barrel manufacturers stamp the caliber on their barrels, as a matter of safety.

DOJ isn't going to buy it that your gun doesn't have a caliber marking anywhere. They're going to demand a photo of a caliber marking somewhere... so if you, in fact, really don't have a caliber mark anywhere on the barrel, it's perhaps a good idea to go buy a cheap barrel somewhere to use for your photo. Or use a different upper (if it's an AR)

Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

Thanks. I might go with the cheap barrel route.

So whats the consensus on the best bullet button to use for registration. Sorry I'm 47 pages behind. I'm going to be registering my AR Pistol. Are the mag magnet ones a viable option? Thanks.

Don't use a magnet. Best bet is either a standard BB, or a raddlock that's in the CA position.

Awesome, thank you. Also do you know if I could swap out the caliber of the pistol down the road if I wanted to?

On Page one you list it is ok to check "multi caliber interchangeable barrels" if the receiver is marked Multi. My AR Pistol is marked Multi-Caliber. I have a 9mm and .300 BO upper for it. Is it still ok to use Multi or will I get flagged. And once again I have to thank you, this tread is simply amazing

Yes, use "firearm with interchangeable barrels". That's actually the only answer they'll accept if your receiver is marked "multi".

I have a M+M M10X rifle. M+M is not listed in the drop down of companies. The guide says this:

Select a manufacturer from the list:
If the manufacturer isn't listed, choose "U S". Write your name as the manufacturer in the Comments section in this format, "MAKE: Company Name".
Just checking if that's still correct. Seems like there's a typo.

Also, on the original DROS for this rifle, the FFL put 'America' as the make. Not sure how correct that is compared to using 'U S' for unlicensed subject.

Ah dammit, is that typo still in there??? I thought I fixed that. What I meant to say is pick "U S" as the manufacturer, and put "MAKE: Manufacturer Name" in the comments.

                                Not "your name".

As far as I know that's still accurate. My manufacturer wasn't listed so I followed those directions. A month later, with my app still pending, I asked DOJ if everything was ok, and they said "yes, we're just still working in adding your manufacturer to our list".
