How can out of staters help California?

In what ways can those folks from other states that want to help end the "so goes California, so goes the nation" anti-gun problem?
How can they influence our politicians in a positive way?
When posting on other sites I always get the same response, "Sorry that we can't help you guys in Kalifornia, but you brought it on yourselves."

Unfortunately, other than being generally supportive, there isn't anything out of staters can do. Sadly, the answer you get is true. You guys, (Californians as a whole) created the monster and are the only people who can kill it. I realize that you have a lot issues like gerrymandering of districts and so forth to deal with, but that doesn't change anything. You guys are the only ones who can fix it.

Your politicians have no interest in talking to people who can't vote for them, or give them money. Heck, they don't even listen to you, why would they care what some guy from AZ thinks?

IMHO, The biggest problem in CA is that people just don't place enough emphasis on their gun rights. They willingly subordinate them to other issues. Of course, that's their choice, but as long as people are more concerned with smoking dope, killing babies, gay marriage, and whatever else, than they are about their gun rights. You are doomed.

I am optimistic that "Heller" and the follow on will help Californians a great deal.

The so goes CA, so goes the nation thing is somewhat overrated. That is often not the case at all. So much depends on attitudes of the voters in general and the other elected officials. For example, the coded ammo thing. In CA, the issue is actively being worked. Here in AZ, the person who introduced the bill, was more or less told by other legislators, "Look, we can't stop you from introducing it, so just do it, and sit down and shut up. It will go nowhere." And it didn't. Wasn't heard in even one of three committes it was assigned to. CCW is another case in point, while CA has refused to change, more and more states have gone shall issue.

"Did I say "republic?" By God, yes, I said "republic!" Long live the glorious republic of the United States of America. Damn democracy. It is a fraudulent term used, often by ignorant persons but no less often by intellectual fakers, to describe an infamous mixture of socialism, miscegenation, graft, confiscation of property and denial of personal rights to individuals whose virtuous principles make them offensive." - Westbrook Pegler

What out of CAers dont seem to understand is that CAers usually starts the trend on a lot of laws there. Example, No smoking in public areas. I rememer when CA inacted this and after a few years other states follow like example Arizona. Now better gas and exhaust restrictions in the works. They just passed that damn Micro stamping Crap and I read in shotgun news that other states are trying to do the same.

The best thing they can do? other than participating in politics at the national level - they can responsibly carry in their home states to continue to disprove the "there will be blood in the streets" FUD. The more people who do so will make the data look better.

Out of staters can do three things.

              1. Donate to the Calguns Foundation.

              2. Make sure they ask their vendors to do business in California because it's important to them too.

              3. Call and write just like we do here. When politicians point out that they aren't from here they should say, "yes, but your bad ideas have a way of creeping into my state."

One thing people outside of California can do is encourage their representatives to not vote with California politicians. In other words, if a bill is introduced in D.C., politicians in the free states should distance themselves from anything that is sponsored by a california politician in the senate or congress. California is an anomoly and should be treated as such. If people like Feinstein, Boxer and Pelosi are sanctioned because of their anti-2A stance, maybe they will realize the error of their ways.

Go thru my things YOU CAN DO list that I've linked in my sig line. The vast majority of those things out-of-staters can do and will indirectly help us. How? The less time, money and manpower the NRA has to spend on fights in other states and at the federal level, the more resources it can throw against the antis in this state.

The more people that CCW in other states, the more times BGs will get stopped by CCWers and the more and better press/PR CCWing will get.

Tell all your friends in CA, and have all your friends who have friends in CA tell their friends here, about CGN, CalNRA, TBJ and everything in my sig line "to do" list.

While I'm very hopeful re Heller and "sons of Heller," we've got to push on all fronts (increased applications in Reasonable Issue counties, nailing Arbitrary & Capricious CLEOs w/TBJ fed lawsuits, active in CalNRA MCs, esp for looming 2010 sheriffs races, unloaded/loaded OC depending upon Heller opinion, etc.). I'm planning on a fight at least thru 2015 to get Shall Issue either de facto or de jure.

My usual response to that is, "Someone has to be the Spartans." Offhand, I'd say there are 5 things that would help us on the front lines the most.

                        1) Get non-Californians to join the NRA.
                        2) Donate to the NRA-ILA
                        3) Convince out of state FFL's to do businesss with Californians.
                        4) as Gene mentions, donate to the Calguns Foundation
                        5) Increase the pressure on politicians to promote legislation on the Federal end (Anything that trumps state restrictions). Anything that limits what CA politicians can do is going to help us. eg. National CCW reciprocity.

not needed the demoKrats have done that allready. but this state is doomed unless like others here believe Heller will save us. the only thing that will save us is a complete change of the Communists that ruined this state to where it is today. but with the elecorate the way it is that won't happen in my lifetime and i'm 37. i have watched in less than 20 yrs the desrtuction of the RKBA to the point that it's a joke. the legislature and the idiots that ruined it are hell bent this year to further resrtict this right. the CRPA or (CRAP) and GOC stabbed us in the back with AB821 and AB1471 these bills were defeated and signed because these 2 groupd PO'd the gov. thanks again guys. like you guys in AZ the lead ammo ban is coming sooner or later some idiot will get it passed. it happened here and remember that dumb condor is in AZ also.

i have very little faith in the Heller decision. i will believe when it is proven to change or abolish a law in another state. the anti's are scared this year because of Heller and that is good. but this gooberment does not follow the law anyway so i will not be convinced until proven otherwise. i have no faith in this state. but i will continue to piss in the cheerios of the Communists in the PRK just to make them mad!

you out of stater must be active in yours or your home state will look like ours. join the NRA and get out of the CRPA(CRAP) and save our state. we have little time left before this state is the first to confiscate and abolish firearms ownership completely.
