Yeah I've had my fair share of INFI and SR-101. Still got a Battle Mistress and a prototype RMD that I've held on to. Great steels for sure. Although I'm not quite certain its really the be-all end-all that some on the Busse forums make them out to be lol. The RMD used to ride on my hip during almost all my hunts and campouts until it got replaced by the Fallkniven A1 (which will now most likely be replaced by the Gunner 12).

No doubt. I'd be happy with A2, 3V, S7, 5160 or whatever. INFI seems good for a mystery steel, hahahah. I love my Mineral Mountains too.
I'm not hammering my Team Gemini Light Brigade into my concrete driveway any time soon. From what I have seen all the steels are good. If it rusts a bit I will buff it out... most of my blades are coated, but patina is ok too. The last TaliWhacker LE I received was rusted a bit with a couple stains. No big deal I'll just use it hahah.Comment

I received my Swap Rat Ratweiler a few weeks ago:

A couple days ago I ordered the Bunker Buster LE too. with the same handle. Really looking forward to it, but it'll probably be months before I receive it.

My Bunker Buster LE is going to be a user. otherwise what good is it to have a really tough knife?
A while back I ordered the Trash 2 to go with my Trash 1:

I passed up the Busse Huck too, I wanted an all around blade, and the Huck is just too Kukri and too big. Kukris make GREAT choppers, but they aren't that great (IMHO) as an all around solution. I'm not liking the corrugated blades either, I don't see a practical need and they seem like a cleaning nightmare.I hear that. There have been quite a few that are easy to pass up for me. Either in a blade size range I have a few of already or INFI and seemingly overpriced.
I wouldn't mind having a corrugated bevel tech blade, but nothing yet. I love the Battle Saw now, but didn't care for it when it was offered - might have to wrangle a trade. Personally, I only have one INFI blade at the moment. I love the Res-C handles and those are typically SR-101 these days or the old SR77... I have multiples of the classics like Dog Fathers and Son of Dogfathers. Nothing much going on now, waiting on one that'll probably be quite a while, and a grab bag with who knows what in it, and who knows when. But you know I'll post them when I get them.
The Bunker Buster will be my first INFI and I'm looking forward to comparing it to the SR101 knives. SR101 works very well. I think the cost of the brushed INFI blades have become excessive, but the coated INFI doesn't appear too bad still.
I have a Trash 1 with a Res C handle. It is the only Bussekin Res C I have, but I've got a Trash 2 on order. Love the Res C handle, but wish the diameter was larger.sigpicC'mon man, shouldn't we ban Democracks from Cal-Guns? Or at least send them to re-education camps.Comment

The Rodent 9 is an AWESOME BEAST. I have a Rodent 7, but I kind of wish I'd gone for the 9.
A lot of people like Survive! Knives, what do you think? I'd like to get your opinion.
I have a S!K 8 in my cart for pre-order, but I decide to think about it. And now I bought the Bunker Buster so I may hold off completely.sigpicC'mon man, shouldn't we ban Democracks from Cal-Guns? Or at least send them to re-education camps.Comment

Awesome man. Definitely share photos of that Bunker Buster when you get it! What are the specs on that Ratweiler just curious?
Since we're talking knives just something that has always kinda bugged me about Busses is that they always put the finger choil far up on the blade, making you lose a little bit of cutting edge length.
I am really liking the size and feel of my Gunner 12 so far and as you can see it has the forward finger choil but it is not so far up on the blade. Compared to my Ratmandu (prototype version) it is only 1/2" longer overall yet has a full inch longer actual cutting edge.

Man, what a great looking pair that will be in black and green G10! Sweet handle. Please post the pair when you have both!
The Trash2 is the only one I have incoming too beside the small Grab Bag mystery item. I got Tan RES-C and green blade on the T2, IIRC - sometimes I forget. I hope the color combo is not too horrendous, maybe black RES-C woulda been better. I just had to have something with the moss green blade.
Next time I'll try some multi-colored G10, if there is a next time.Comment

Actually, I'm getting the Bunker Buster LE in the tan & black like the picture.Man, what a great looking pair that will be in black and green G10! Sweet handle. Please post the pair when you have both!

That's cool, you got in on the Trash 2 too. I think it might be a really nice knife. As for color of the Trash 2, mine will be pretty boring. I'm getting black Res C and tanker gray.
Looking forward to seeing your T2 when it comes in.sigpicC'mon man, shouldn't we ban Democracks from Cal-Guns? Or at least send them to re-education camps.Comment

I keep kicking myself in the *** for not getting the MOFO BG when it came out.Comment

You're going to tell us that and then not show us photos??
Damn brother those are some nice pieces and I think you chose the best two knives out of their entire lineup. Really, how can you go wrong with a Harsey design? And I love the "Spartan spear tip" on the Horkos. The only Spartan Blades knife I have is the little Enyo but the ergonomics of it never suited me well (handle is just a bit too small) so it rarely sees action. Good job on your picks.Comment

Overall Length:: 13.25"
Blade Length:: 7.5"
Blade Width:: 1.75"
Blade Thickness:: approx 1/4"
Grind:: Saber
Steel:: SR101
Hardness:: 58-60Rc
I weighed it at just under 23oz.
I love the finger choils. But Busse is a little loose on the blade lengths. If you measure the length of the cutting edge its about right, but if you make a linear measurement from where the cutting edge starts to the tip it'll be short. I guess you could say that the finger choil reduces the potential blade length, or you could say the BlackHeart reduces handle length. The choil of the SwampRat is far forward to facilitate fine cutting or scraping. Using the finger choil changes the balance of the blade and makes blade control easier.
The best handle I've used yet is on my Rodent 7. Which is the same handle used on the Rodent 4 and 9.
I like the looks of the Gunner 12, very nice looking and I like the handle, I don't know much about BlackHeart, but the handle looks comfy.
The Ratmandu and the Gunner 12 are way different knives, however. Seems hard to compare.sigpicC'mon man, shouldn't we ban Democracks from Cal-Guns? Or at least send them to re-education camps.Comment

Thank you sir. I sold a couple of Benchmade autos to get them, but I think that was a fair trade in my book. I have the Horkos in my deployment bag and the Defense will be my hunting/ camp knife. Ill post pics tomorrow because I am on duty tonight.You're going to tell us that and then not show us photos??

Yeah I see them as more of a utility blade. At over $600 shipped, yikes.
I like my GK&CO AEOF - a $60 Nepalese setup that is near .40" thick in some places. Myabe it is made of a Mercedes truck leaf spring, but it is a great blade, hahah.
The Cold Steel machetes and the GURKHA KUKRI PLUS are my other picks. I was real close to getting the CS GURKHA KUKRI PLUS but even $170 or so seemed like a stretch for a Kukri.Comment

Yeah, I like Bolo style knives better than Kukri for chopping because they are a little more useable for other activities other than just chopping. However, I think Kukris are the best choppers.Yeah I see them as more of a utility blade. At over $600 shipped, yikes.
