    You are absolutely correct.
Although there are "operators" out there that are as good as anyone, the majority of the military doesn't train with firearms enough.
As a tanker, I was always issued a handgun (first a 1960's era 1911 with NO rifling in the barrel and then an M9).
We qualified annually with them, but that's it.
No emphasis was placed on proper handling or the fundamentals.
It was "go get your pistol fro the armorer and go qualify".
It didn't matter what technique you used, as long as you didn't shoot yourself or someone else.

As far as being an Operator, I think this guy really was an Operator...a switchboard operator.

You are correct, no harm, I was not commenting on you other than to agree with what you stated.

When I was stationed on Air Force bases, they qualified every three years, and only if on "Mobility", and yearly if overseas. My minimum was every 6 months no matter what. I fired their qual once and had to mail it to my HQ in Europe as I was remote and my HQ (even though I was deployed) required every 6 months in my record. I shot their test clean, and my HQ would not take the AF one as they said it was too basic, so they mailed the the regs and targets to the AF and had a "Tactical" nco admin the test to me in the field. I must say their tactical training NCO was VERY good, and taught me some things with my side arm (as I carried and had to qual with both weapons).

my daughter shot more between the age of 16 and 18 than she did her entire time in the navy, i think she shot a whopping 7 rounds of a 1911, qualified first time out to the range on rifle, so never got to shoot again. my son went to range to qualify last weekend (hunter ligget) he wont see the armory again for another 6 months

I'll have to see if they have me scheduled to work at the end of the month.

I'll be there that weekend for rifle.
We'll just give them the 'ol number 6.

In other words, don't count on you to own up to it. You stating right here that you would outright lie like that is despicable. I'm telling you right now if it happened near me I would not hesitate calling you a liar.
But of course, go with that, say it was brand x ammo, then when they start the lawsuit with brand x the truth will start coming out, now you'll go to jail for something along the lines of making false claims to make another liable
As I said before, good luck

Strictly speaking, any projectile that attracts a magnet is never allowed. The rifle course is mostly shooting on paper, and occasionally steel from 50+ yards. But the steel targets are always there behind the paper targets, and an AP ricochet from 7 yards can seriously hurt or kill someone. I've caught some VERY hot ric fragments that hurt like a MFer from the 7 and 10 yard lines

There are two steel targets on the ends of the Precision Rifle target line. People use them for sighters when working out consistency problems, or if you're not sure your data has put you on paper

Good to know that they added some steel out there, I wish each student had steel from 200 on. That would be nice and a lot faster to identify your hits. Walking back and forth or taking the half functioning truck back takes forever and some guys can hardly walk to the truck.

What a dilemma, I have a 4 day rifle class next weekend and I haven't decided on which rifle to play with. I can break out the AR and be like everyone else, empty the bank account get a upper body workout and blast away with the FAL or go old school and give the M1 carbine some love. Decisions decisions.

Easy, take both! I have done that, and loved the fact I got some range time with both and ended up on the AR because of its advanced ergonomics
