for the first 3 days I used a light denim open front shirt that I taped a rock to the bottom of it (otherwise the wind would blow it closed faster than I could get to the grip. with the added weight, I could flick that shirt and smack myself on the opposite shoulder, it cleared the holster great But it was too thin to be able to get to get to the mags cleanly, I kept grabbing a handful of concealment. ended up just going to a heavy jacket on day 4 and had no issues with it.

my eyesight is weird in that my dominance changes back in forth as I blink. So, when they call the line ready, I just lock down my support eye and am fine. if I don't lock it down early, about 25% of the time, I end up sighting with my "wrong" eye. this happens shooting lefty or righty, so I just make it a point to just consciously close the support eye before I draw.

I was up there with ke6guj and was his coach for 4 days. He did remarkably good and picked it up fast.

I did it with a revolver for the first time and finished 8 down total gun a DG. It was very nice seeing my revolver skills accelerate during the 4 days. I was in a deep Valley on day 3.

Used all factory ammo but had 3 squib rounds.

glad you were on top of it and picked them up. you kept sneaking up beside me for extra relays so I was never coaching you when you had the squibs. It would have sucked if you had KaBoomed a Python

Just got back from my 1st 4 day rifle. Nice class. Had a group that was small and almost all returning students. Not a difficult course in my opinion. I think the 4 day pistol course was more difficult. The instructors worked with the students in a professional manner and helped every shooter get faster and more accurate. Listen to them, use the fundamentals they teach and you will be successful. One lady in the class picked up a rifle the week prior and got a graduate.

Nice. Getting graduate support side is nothing to balk at. I did the same. Because we registered as a group we all did the test at the same time. Let my niece use the vest so she could try and go for gold. Messed me up I can tshirt draw strong side no problem. Support side I had been practicing open front so it messed me up on just enough shots not to get DG.

My buddy pulled off DG support side though. Then I whooped him in the steel challenge. Good times.

One of the nice things about FS. Most would go back and pay to take the class again support side at other schools. Sweet!

If anyone is looking for some cheap buck for an upcoming class

Heck, it's even cheaper than the Rio at ASW.

Yep. However at .32 cents a round, it was too good to pass up.
