Frankly I would rather have private training and the RIA, but I am satisfied.

I am quite frustrated at this whole mess with Front Sight, but honestly I can't complain about what I got out of FS over the years in return for the money I have previously invested.

The first time I went to FS was in 1999 or 2000 - (I think the latter.) The class was primarily taught by Brad, though Iggy was on the range teaching and shooting and did the lecture portion of the class. The only building I recall being there was the white dome which was pretty much brand new. Great memories!

I have a diagram sketch of the target with dimensions on my notepad.
Yeah the 150 to 350 ranges are a free for all. You can use tripod, chair, whatever.

For 75 and 100, you cannot have the magazine or stock touch the ground.

So, shooting sticks Ok? I have used those pictured in Africa out to 400 yards and very comfortable with them.

All I can tell you right now that Frontsight will be a functioning Gun Range in the Future. Who owns and operates it remains to be seen. There are several Events on the Horizon in the next few weeks. Stay tuned and don't need to start a 3.0 Version this one will be fine. Just discuss what you need to and the Good, Bad, and Ugly will take care of itself.

Thanks for the heads up. Hope some good comes out of all this.

Everytime I'm in town I hit my usual favorites but make it a point to try new places. The Grill Room was on my list but I didn't go this past trip. Has anyone been there?

I tried a few new places but one I'll go back to is Moonshiners (it's at Terrible's Road House). Pretty good smoked BBQ at a reasonable price.

Correct. My first time in the class I DGed with a stock 308 AR, and bipod, so next 2 times I brought out multiple rifles each for fun - and tried my tripod shooting stick. Its my favorite class, and I've taken all classes out there except rope/rappell, full auto and Combat Master prep.

Check it out - here is the target with actual measurements to help you prep for holdovers. They present this on Day 2 if I remember correctly, but it could give you a head start for your holdover/dope

Stockman's pretty much every time for us - except Mon and Tues because they aren't open. Their prime rib is "LA good"...not just "Pahrump good"

They will teach you one possible technique to use the upper circles as aiming points for the lower circles as you move back - hence the measurements to help holdovers (e.g., center of crosshair (or red dot sight) aimed at the top of the upper circle to hit the lower circle center).

I'm a mil x-mas tree kinda guy, so I just know my holds in mils above target center.

I should have put my boots on prior to reading this post.

Although I could stay in Pahrump I stay in Las Vegas Strip Hotel. I don't get out often enough so I try to make the most out of it!

                                Front Sight

For the people going to the rifle class. My daughters and I did the rifle class back in 2016. My youngest daughter LOVES her 30 M1 Carbine. I t was a great rifle for the class. However, a WARNING. She would have DG'd the class except for the malfunction drills. When you use the 15 rd mags, the bolt does not lock open, however the 30rd mags lock the bolt open. I recommend that if anyone is to use the 30 M1 carbine, get some 30 rd followers and put them in your 15 rd mags. We also discovered that the 30 rd mags were very unreliable and on the 15 rd mags only load about 12 rds. When we were loading 15 rds, we were having lots of malfunctions. Good luck and have a good class.
