My favorite "mistake" was when I opened a pack of primers upside down and they spilled in the carpet. Well it was late and I said screw it I'm going to bed and shut the door to the reloading room.

Well my ex-wife woke up early and the internet router is in the reloading room and it needed to be reset. She saw the primers on the floor and thought she would be nice and clean them up for me as I was reloading for her rifle. Yeah she thought since there was so many to just use a vacuum. NEVER use a vacuum to suck up primers, it does not work out well.

Loaded 100 rounds of 223 and found out my crimp die wasnt adjusted. I had to pull all 100 rounds due to extreme bump on the case shoulders. Now I triple check everything before starting.

Loaded 50 rounds of too low a load. The gun functions 100% but shoots brass at my face, impacts all over the paper, and it's dirtier/smokier..

so I'm pulling them all. Not a big one.. But time consuming when it didn't need to be

Battery for the low-primer alarm on my XL650 died. Had about 15 rounds with no primers. The only reason I noticed the problem was the accumulation of Bullseye in the cartridge bin.

This particular toolhead hadn't been used for awhile. Now, I put an "in service" date label on both the primer and powdercheck alarms to indicate when I changed out the battery.

I was dumping powder from my powder measure back into the bottle. I ended up knocking the bottle over.

Had my first WTF today. While I was loading some 45 ACP with 7gr of Longshot and 180gr LSWCs on my Lee Loadmaster, I looked a this case after the powder dropped and it look like a bit more came out so I decided to pull it out and check it. It was a 8.1gr charge and when I looked closer, there was a SOLID pebble like piece of powder. It wasn't clumped up, it was just solid. I put that on my burn tray and it burned really slow. You can see in the picture.

lol, here's another one I'm sure a few here have done. when using an impact puller to pull down ammo, turning it upside-down after taking off the lid. done this a couple times not thinking and dumped powder all over the floor. even worse when you hold your hand out to catch the bullet and feel powder run through your fingers like frickin' Indiana Jones with the sand. doh! thankfully I routinely spill tumbler media on the floor in there too so it dilutes the powder and doesn't set my vacuum on fire, yet.

Back in the late 80's early 90's I bought a MEC for reloading shotgun. A bunch of us were at a range in Elsinore shooting clays when my friends girlfriend at the time ran out of ammo.

I had loaded about 40 boxes and offered her some of mine so she could enjoy the day. Apparently sometime during my reloading session my MEC decided not to drop any powder on some of the loads. It turns out she got some of those loads.

Some were good, some were not. We were cracking up because every time she got a squib she was jerking from the anticipation of recoil.

By the end of the afternoon she was cured of that.

Last night, I got bored and decided I'd dick around with my seating die to see if I could put a crimp on some of my recently loaded 308 rounds and ended up smashing the entire shoulder of my test piece into an almost comical mushroom.

Going to have to review the instructions on that one when I get home tonight.

When I setup my first press, an xl650 for .40 s&w, I checked everything and set my powder charge on my scale. Unfortunately, I bought a beam scale and failed to adjust my zero. What should have been 5.2 gr of hp38 was actually about 3.2 gr. Thankfully it wasn't the other way around. All that happened was that they wouldn't cycle the slide in my xd40 when I tested them.

                            Lets see:
                            - I have made a squib(no powder) charge that my father found for me with his gun that I load for.
                            - If the primer doesn't seat with some force, more must be better until your ears start ringing from the primer going off.
-small primers go very easily into large primer 45 ACP brass

RCBS Chargemaster . . . drainplug left open when filling . . . yep more than a few times when I changed powders.
