Seriouslly if your head is in the game you shouldnt make mistakes. But we are human...

Whats interesting is of all the mistakes in this thread, I have yet to see a post about faulty components...

    QUESTION:
Does it happen? Yeah old powder or contaminated primers, but I dont think they will hurt you..
Any component failures which are dangerous?
    .
I don't see faulty components as a boo boo on my part (unless I didn't take care of them)

but yes I have had a few primers not go bang. and when I started loading 40 for my Glock I had a few high primers that took two hits to go off. an adjustment of the press took care of that. (that's one reason I don't load more than 50 rounds of a new load, I hate to pull apart rounds)
Q: What was the most positive result of the "Cash for Clunkers" program?
A: It took 95% of the Obama bumper stickers off the road.

you reminded me, had some random bag bullets that I got in a trade, got several bags of bullets with tags in each bag denoting for example 7mm-150gr, etc. so I was gonna load up some 6.5jap, I dig out one of the bags labeled 6.5-120gr, so I count out 50, stick 50 primed cases in the loading block and start filling them with powder. once they're full, I turn off the lyman and go to start seating bullets. first one drops right in the case. doh! wtf? turns out they were .257 bullets not .264, had a heck of a time getting the two I dropped out of the cases without dumping powder everywhere. yes, I tried a second one while scratching my head at the first....

Loading primer tubes today, forgot to put the keeper pin back in the tube after last fill...it's amazing how fast they spill out when they are turned up side down

Well hell, its good to know I'm not the only one that left the drain plug open on a CM. Powder comes out mighty fast! Learning lesson!

I found a 41 cal in the middle of 200 44mag cases. Same sick feeling.

My biggest booboo? Not getting into reloading sooner..

Second biggest? Not getting MOAR consumables...

                      But, mainly:

                      1. Ran low on power, had to go through an akro bin full to find the empties. A copule made it through. I now always bring a tool kit that includes a punch and hammer to fit the barrel.

                      2. Primer missing after a few rounds. Found an akro bin full of loose powder.

                      3. Taking a hit off the bong and what I thought was ground up hash was actually some powder that fell from the akro bins. That was fun.

More a marketing gone dangerous (to your bolt at least).

Tula KVB223 small rifle primers; don't use for 223.
                          Pierced primers above min loads.

Their other two small rifles are ok. Magnum and "5.56"

I'am load'n .357with 296. I have a old redding Benchrest measurer I dump the the powder back in the jug, put the cap on & there's powder all over the bench. I know I didn't miss the jug, the tube on the Redding is so old it shrunk up. When they say 296 flows water they mean it.

How many people with a CM have done the same? lol
Not exactly the same, but pretty similar. I forgot to turn the hopper off on my Lee Pro Auto Disk before pulling it off to dump the powder back in the bottle. I dumped the powder on my bench instead!

yeah buddy, you ever spill ball powder you'll be finding it for years! BL-C(2) makes a mess. I love when I clumsily bump the lyman dispenser before putting the pan back down and some powder comes out the tube. that sh*t just goes everywhere. found out real quick why they give you that little brush.
