rcbs pro 2000
i have a rcbs pro 2000 manual index...smooth and easy to set up...i can buy the auto index accessory , but i dont crank em out anyway....aps strip loader comes with it and fairly easy to load strips...caliber conversion easy to do---pull 2 pins ,adjust powder throw and go...glad i bought mine 5 yrs ago (340.00)..rockchuckker single stage for bolt gun precision...i like single stage but pistol ammo on rock a drag to me... best wishes to you... whatever works...cheers...Comment

I agree. I loaded 900 40s&w last night in a couple of hours. I used to not even load the cheaper calibers (9, 40, 45, 223) on a single stage because of the amount of time it took to load compared to the savings. Now a box of 50 40 s&w cost me 6 dollars and 5 minutes of time.i have a rcbs pro 2000 manual index...smooth and easy to set up...i can buy the auto index accessory , but i dont crank em out anyway....aps strip loader comes with it and fairly easy to load strips...caliber conversion easy to do---pull 2 pins ,adjust powder throw and go...glad i bought mine 5 yrs ago (340.00)..rockchuckker single stage for bolt gun precision...i like single stage but pistol ammo on rock a drag to me... best wishes to you... whatever works...cheers...Comment

yeah with my .223 i'm a little more ocd about loading so the turret press allows me to monitor all phases of the reloading process.Has anyone else ever dropped down to single stage from progressive? I bought a Lee Pro 1000 with all the goodies-bullet feeder, multi tube assemblies, shellplates, etc but just could never get it to work right. I bought a single stage Lee press and really enjoy it. Yes, I cannot produce hundreds of rounds in an hour, but it is more relaxing producing 50 or so than it is having to stop every few minutes to make some adjustment on the progressive.#blackriflesmatter

Technically speaking, what you define as average is really the 50th percentile. For example, if 10 people took a test and 9 of them had no mistakes, but one only got 50% correct, then only one will be below average (<95%).Statement of facts is "fighting words"? By definition, half of the population is below average in mechanical ability/reasoning. I've seen the results of that half when they try to do something difficult; like change a flat tire.
Or a light bulb, or use a ladder. It's pathetic, and yet they are allowed to purchase reloading equipment. There ought'a be a law or something!!
Since mechanical aptitude can be learned, just about anyone should be able to take up reloading safely, I agree that reloading is NOT the place to learn, a stripped thread and a blown primer tube are two very different things indeed. lol-Colin

Ok, that's funny. Yes, I come from a more liberal background. Yes, I have a blue PROGRESSIVE press.
The thing is that after a ton of research the big blue just made sense.
So what's the jabs at dillon about?
Just sayin'Comment

If you've got a lee single-stage like the classic cast or the anniversary kit, you can decap, size & prime easily.. then dump the cases into your casefeeder on the pro 1000 and load like a madman. The lee pro auto-disc is as accurate a powder drop as any other, the case feeders work fine, the only consistent/frequent problem with lee presses is priming, and your single-stage will do that (and sizing) in one operation.. plus you get another chance to handle the brass & look for cracks/splits, etc.Has anyone else ever dropped down to single stage from progressive? I am sure you mean the progressive presses. If you've got a lee single-stage like the classic cast or the anniversary kit, you can decap, size & prime easily.. then dump the cases into your casefeeder on the pro 1000 and load like a madman. I have NEVER had one upside down or jacked up primer in my LCT safety prime which I prime at the end of sizing on the up stroke...7 Billion people on the planet. They aint ALL gonna astronauts. Some will get hit by trains...

Guessing he didn't have the right questions (rifle shells lengths), experience or $$$.Why did you get the pro 1000 instead of the Load Master?
The LM is my first press and is a joy to run. Mount it solidly, skip the case feed initially.. watch your measurements and go.After watching WTC Bldg #7 being razed, and considering it's main occupants..
I stumbled onto this note while checking advanced weapons..
"911 = false flag. WTC 7 was brought down by demolition. 47 floors came down in 6 1/2 seconds - not hit by a plane. Just one of hundreds of absurdities that occurred that day. Wake up".Comment

I have two Pro 1000's on my bench, and both work very well. Check out my Pro 1000 videos; perhaps they'll help you as well. I made them because while Lee's Pro 1000 press is actually a good, very functional press, the instructions they include SUCK, and that's really the major problem. The videos are at the Web site in my signature, or the YouTube channel "Cowboy T".
With the priming system, that thing's got to be clean. That means no residual manufacturing oils anywhere on the chute or on the primer ram. I would recommend you go through what I call the "Quicker Cleaning/Maintenance Procedure" for this model of press. Takes me about half an hour to do, about every 4,000 to 6,000 rounds or so.
Also, put a little motor oil on the press's ram. That will definitely help smooth things out. I use 5w30, since that's what my car takes and thus what I have handy. But any of the standard grades of motor oil will work great."San Francisco Liberal With A Gun"

The op has lee progressive press - if he's having problems, they're likely primer related. It is what it is.. that said, the case-feeder, powder measure & bullet seating ops are rarely a problem on lee presses.. rather than going 100% manual, he can use the single stage he already owns to deprime, resize & seat new primers, in *one* operation, then dump the primed cases into the casefeeder & run lots of ammo @ high speed. If the cases are sized & primed, you need a lot less force to run the press, you're faster than a pure single-stage & have a lot less setup to do, or things to watch on the pro 1000. Check for powder, seat a bullet, pull the handle, one round, one pull.. and 0% chance of a flipped/missing primer.. less problems with the press as well, since one of the causes of problems in the lee presses is the grit that falls out when you deprime.Comment
