    Sharing bullets and powder

I don't know the legality associated with this, but I think with the vast choices of powder and bullets available, we should try to find a way for local Calguns reloaders to gtg and trade/swap/share/give each other a small amount of our stash while getting some new materials to play in return.

For example, I have boatloads of W231 and 200Gr/185Gr that I could share a handful of bullets and 5 ozs of powder for something I haven't tried. We could meet once a month.

With the large quantity we'd need to buy to compensate for hazmat fees, or the exorbitant cost at LGSs for powder as well as the minimal lot of thousands of bullets, being able to trade and try something new before we buy sounds like a good idea.

Too bad your in the San Fransisco area, it would be nice to try a few other popular powders without having to buy a whole lb.

I think this was the point of the various "Roll Call" threads.

This may be a good place to get some traction:

I'm certainly up for swapping war stories over beverages, and putting usernames with faces around here.

How would we organize this? I have about 700 assorted 45 caliber (acp or light 45LC) cast projectiles and want a few 338 jacketed. There's gotta be a good way to org this beside all of us dogpile the WTB forum putting up WTT threads.

Perhaps the powers that be would add a WTT forum - One that the thread dies after say, 30 days.
One other thing, people have to be less secret about their location -- "bay area" is too big, who wants to drive from gilroy to Napa to swap 50 boolits.

Since this is more of a localized function...why not post in the various roll calls we have.

The people in there are not as "secret" since we have cities of where we are at.

The idea of a bartering network is something I've tried to foster in my dealings with my fellow calgunners, though my dealings are not necessarily widespread. I think that simply adding others to your friends list allows you to have those whom you may/can barter with. A simple PM with a "Hey so and so, you got any so and so you can trade?"

So I'll just put it out there. If any of you need something, and you want to trade for it, give me a holler. If I have it, and can spare it, and you have something I need, then everything is everything. I live in Vallejo, have another home in S.F. that I frequent often enough, and work in San Jose. That's a good size triangle right there. If something can be worked out, without any serious inconvenience, then it can be beneficial.

I don't know how much you need, basically a rough half-cup worth will load 100 rounds of 9mm at 4.4 Gr which is on the border hot line for 124. I can give you or anyone else a half cup worth no problem.

I live on the West side of San Jose off highway 85.

I think the best thing to do is to have a meet at 10:30AM on one Sunday of every month at St. John's which is basically off 101 in Santa Clara, very convenient. We can play around in the parking lot, then grab some lunch.

Just a first thought off my head, of course open to other ideas.
