Try the die first. These dies are really easy to work with. I know some don't care for them, but, seem to do well for a lot of handloaders. Let's see what you come up with.

Flitz won't do it, you need to use a diamond compound. I use diamond lapping paste I buy from kentsupplies.com. With the die slowly spinning in my lathe I use a Dremel with some paste on a felt polishing bob and it still takes 4 to 5 minutes of polishing to make any measurable difference.

Your die looks like Lee got a little too aggressive with the rougher but did make an attempt to finish size it so it may be within spec. The one in my pic was never finish ground or polished. Lee does a great job of finishing the outside of their dies but is lacking where it really counts.

Tried with the Lee fcd. Didn't seem to harm anything. Just need to swage the bullets. They still wont chamber.

Shortened all the way to 1.10(per Black bullets international). Still didn't work.

Cover cartridge with a black sharpie and chamber it, look for marks where it's hanging up.

It is hanging up everywhere the bullet is seated into the cartridge. I'll take pics when I get back to it.

Even the FCD didn't do the trick...that's surprising. Did you feel the round being swaged down at all as you were pulling the handle?

Minimal pressure. I only adjusted it just enough to straighten out the bell.

What firearm are you loading for? Factory, or aftermarket barrel?

Again, Lee dies are not consistent, and yours may not even touch the case with a .3565"-.357" bullet. Some swage oversize bullets, some don't. I have a 380 FCD that will let a .358" pass through without touching the case. That's one of the few that I didn't have to re-engineer.

No, I don't mean the crimp. I mean as the round was starting to go into the FCD and was passing where the bullet is, did you feel any pressure? Remember, we're not trying to crimp with the FCD in this case; we're trying to swage down the round 'cause the bullet might be an eensy bit too thick in diameter. You should feel this shortly after the case mouth enters the FCD's carbide sizer ring, but before you get to the bottom (the "crimping" position).

No, it did not feel as though it did that.

Measurents are good. Still a bit tight when I eject a round by hand. Looks like they don't work in this AR9.20220419_115559.jpg

Hard to tell from the pic, but are those marks on the bullet from touching the lands? Sure looks too long from what I can see. Just looking at that distance from the case mouth to the ogive it wouldn't chamber in any of my 9 mils.
