Loaded copper jacketed 9mm with zero issues. Also make my own 300 blackout. It's these coated bullets that are getting me haha

Do you or anyone else have a way to plunk test an AR-9 barrel that is installed, other than dropping it and having it fall out fairly easily? With a handgun barrel this is a simple task. Unfortunately this gun is assembled.

I don't know what manual you have or what mold BBI is using but the Lyman cast manual show 1.05 for the seating depth for a 124gr TC and the software I use has the 125 BBIs listed it doesn't not show the specific seating depth but I would start at 1.10 if I were loading them... that is not true, if I were loading them I would measure them and enter everything into the software and come up with a better seating depth.

*I am using GRT to pretend to work up loads as I haven't actually loading anything besides shotshell in at least 6 months

OP, did you ever get your issue figured out yet?

Not yet. Haven't gotten back to it. Close though. Jist a bit more crimp and deeper seating depth. I should be good.

Are you going to try the 1.10 ?

I tried it. Did plunk test on M&P 9 barrel. Worked perfectly. Tightened up the crimp. Pulled a few to make sure the coating wasn't damaged. These will be used in handguns only. No matter what seating depth I try, the coating gets damaged in my AR9.

Yeah, sometimes the Hi Tek coating adds to the diameter and can affect chambering. Set the crimp properly and make sure case mouth is below max diameter. Hopefully that is all it needs.
The hundo guage allows you to guage 100 rounds of 9mm, 40s&w or 45acp at a time. Then flip them into 100 round ammo boxes. The ones that failed may fit into my guns barrels but I've used the guage with many other bullets with only one companies bullet failing 25%. I've resized the bullets before loading and they load normally after that.
