Free Windows 10

So I am on Win 7 and the icon popped up today to download/ free upgrade Windows 10.

What are your thoughts?

The icon doesn't actually download Windows 10. It links to a place to enter an email address to be informed when it is available for download.

Sometimes you have to see beyond a veil of generosity to find the true motive. When someone gives you something be mindful that there may be an ulterior motive, and a cost greater than the one intended. I'm waiting until I find out the hidden costs.

Just like any other Windows in the past, until they have a full service pack out, I'm not going to touch it with a 1000 foot pole.

They are not paying me for beta testing their software. At least with Windows 10, I'm not paying to beta test like previous version.

Saw it on my laptop today as well. I like win7 so I'm not sure if I'll be updating right away, but my fiance's laptop runs win8 which is god awful and it looks like win10 will be a step in the right direction for her machine

I like 7 quite well, but I've played with the tech preview for 10 quite a bit. I'm actually more excited about 10's release than about anything since XP.

Well after getting everyone stuck with Windows 8 then it is no WONDER so many people are looking forward to getting windows 10... Anything to get out of Windows 8.

It was neat. But I do not think I will be waiting to get it. Besides, my sources give me Windows versions to try out all of the time. I had so many version of windows XP that I forgot where I put the cool ones. I am still running Black & Blue Vista XP on my game system...

What is so special about windows 10? If it has any interface like the bastard OS 8.0 then I will not be touching it until 10.1 comes out. Let's see if history repeats itself here.

it should be good. The speed of Win8 with a better interface.

May as well get it since its free and to stay up to date you'll have to get it eventually.

10 is actually good, its a feature rich 7, been running the TP since last aug or whatever... each build gets better, but still a lot of mismatch in how the control panel works.
