I don't doubt a Glock's accuracy but it's just hilarious coming from a guy who just shot a 3" group a 5 yards If he did that at 15 or 20 yards I'd walk over and tell him he is a good shot and Glocks are accurate

Just got back from my local shop and there was a group of older guys talking with the owner and it seemed like they were helping one of the guys pick out a gun. All of them seemed fairly knowledgeable about guns. As I'm paying for bullets, I hear one guy say, "hey, show him the 10/22 Takedown." To which the guy I'm assuming was going to make a purchase replied, "C'mon now, I don't need an assault rifle."

Everyone chuckled before telling him it's just your standard .22 that breaks apart for storage.

As a former gun shop salesman, I have no idea where to start.

I'll just say the biggest things that get to me are these:

1) Long-time gun-owners who should know better calling magazines "clips"
2) Gun owners actively using the term "assault rifle" to describe ARs/AKs like it's a valid term.
3) "You don't even have to aim a shotgun for home defense"
4) "I'm buying a Mini 14 for NRA high-power matches because it's basically a M1 Garand/M1A but better."
5) And finally, the dude who rolled up with a set of HUGE NRA and Obama stickers on his car and meant it. Walked in with a letterman-style jacket for "team Obama" all over it. EVERYONE stared at him, the whole shop stopped.

Several week ago I saw two guys putting a bipod on a Sig to test hand loads. They where shooting at 5 yards and I think the best they managed on a bipod was maybe 1.5" at 5 yards. Eventually one of the guys took the bipod off and shot a dime sized group at 7 yards off hand.

I could not figure out why he needed the bipod....

I remember those guys. Pistol on a bipod. Even the RSO stopped, looked and shook his head

Was not funny. It was infuriating trying to buy a shotgun for my boy at Basspro and having to stand in line for 45 min while the fat bald sales rep tells a first time buyer how to clear a house room by room with a Mossy. We don't shop at Basspro anymore.
