Just for a laugh, what are some of the funny things you guys have overheard during conversation with "lowest common denominator"/run-of-the-mill gun owners?

My favorite has to be a guy I know who wants to SSE two 45 ACP Hi Points before years end.

Also I have heard "I have a Kel Tec. The one the U.S. Military uses."

The African American male trying to purchase a glock. 40 and obtaining his HSC. He muzzle everybody in the room even his own girlfriend and was kicked out.

Once at LAX range I overheard someone telling his buddies that it was wise to use FMJ rounds for home defense because the hollow-points would fragment and cause collateral damage.

Another time, a guy at LAX range was shooting his AR with no rear-sight. The RO was trying to explain to him that he needed the rear sight to aim with. The guy with the AR just kept saying, "So??

Gun owners are not a protected class in my book and are just as susceptible to stupidity as everyone else. It doesn't require a special person to be able to buy a gun.

I remember this guy who asked if his AR receiver was made out of polymer or aluminum.

I get about one guy a month in the shop who will hold a pistol grip shotgun in front of his face to "use the sights". Most don't believe me that pulling the trigger in that position may not be a good idea.

I was at a shop in texas and this dude rolled in looking to buy 5 rounds. he only need 5 rounds for one person.. Dude left in a hurry!

Like some guys from Egypt & Stan-Land wanting to learn how to steer a jumbo jet. "I don't care about take-off and landing; just want to steer it...."

I love " i got the Nikon scope with bdc software!" Ahaha or better yet
" I prefer a mil reticle" like they know how to truly use it... Or " yeah we shoot long range!" (200yards) or " 1" group at 1000 all day"

Watching people use scoped rifles to shoot standing at junk 15' away never gets old.

Turners clerk -- "the 44mag is ok, but this here S&W Sigma 9mm is a good bear defense gun, because 9mm is small so it penetrates more"

Customer -- "can i change out the grips on this 1911?"
Turners clerk --grips? what do you mean grips? OHHH YOU MEAN PANELS, yes you can change the panels"

Customer to clerk --"what caliber is this 1911?"
right before the customer takes the gun home.
