There is a old saying of married men shooters.
"When I die, I hope my wife doesn't sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them."
Be careful, you don't want to get your man card revoked! LOL!

If you can't shoot good, at least look good shooting

Then in a few years you can get divorced and buy whatever the hell you want.

Haha, thought I was the only idiot who left the receipt out in the open. OP do what you feel comfortable. I personally just buy what I want, when I want. I don't necessarily hide it from her, but I don't advertise I just bought it either. Saves a lot of unnecessary arguing. BTW I'm the bread winner and I pay for everything, so when we argue, it's about my money anyways. Go figure.

If you are planning on how much you can maybe sell it for later, especially unfired, then you don't need it.

2013 I've become a first time owner. With the excitement of a new hobby and panic, I went into a buying frenzy. I ended up going into some savings after ammo and range time. My finance has been patient and enjoyed going to the range with me. She usually makes me promise that my last purchase will be my last, and this time she is for real.

She really doesn't want me purchasing right now because she wants us to pay for the wedding and buy a house before I keep spending money.

I've been wanting to buy a Glock 19 ever since the hype of ccw came around. I figure you never know when this market of availability will end and I should just buy it now. I also think if I ever really need cash I could sell if for at least $450, if unfired.

Now the controversy is if I bought it I would hide it, locked and put it in a place it wouldn't be found. Then bring it up next year when adequate time has passed.

So has anyone else done this before? Someone talk me out or into it .
So if you buy the G19 and successfully hide it, are you really a man that is worth marrying?

Have some integrity. Stand by the promises you make, or don't make them.
My friends and family disavow all knowledge of my existence, let alone my opinions.

If you have to lie or hide the purchase from her then you shouldn't be getting married. Not a great foundation to build upon IMHO.

Do a drive through wedding, spend the rest on guns.

Lie to her and deceive her. If you get away with it, you are next in line for POTUS.

I own about twice as many guns as my wife thinks I own.

First, flick your sack to make it's there.

Second, man up and be honest. Real men don't lie.

Lastly, (and most disturbing) don't ask a bunch of strangers to guide the most intimate relationship you should ever have.

Never lie to a spouse or fiancee. Just don't. It's not worth the relationship, and if it is, then break up before you ruin both your lives. If you want it that bad, work out a deal to sell something you own, and buy it with the money earned. You'll have to sell half of what you own anyway in the divorce settlement you earn from lying to her.

What's more important? A gun or your future wife? I'm guessing if you have to ask that question then it's not her.
