Target Masters in Milpitas has gone downhill in the last 10 years or so. I used to be a member there in the 90's and it was a nice place to shoot. As a side note, I have seen people yelled at on every range I have ever been to for various reasons, indoor ranges in particular do not like rapid fire even though they do like it for select individuals. If I owned an indoor range I would promote it since that means people would buy more ammo, unless the insurance does not allow it.

Hard to believe someone would make that comment un-provoked....but if he did, he's truly an a-hole.

The employee retention rate over there seems to be non existant which might make it believeable. Which also makes them not knowing the difference between a I and II or Custom and TLE not surprising. I go there strictly to browse or if I'm desperate, I may use the range. Other than that, nothing else.

Hmmm... Sounds like a cork-soaker I had a run-in with at TM about a year ago. Tall, lanky a-hole? Total prick. I thought he was gone.

Target Masters West has gone downhill BIG TIME,when Bill got the place from his old man he instilled a "we know what you want cause your an idiot" attitude. The same people worked there for years and then Bill took over. Now you would be hard pressed to see the same employees there one month to the next. I was there one time and one of their "experts" was pushing a 1000$ Kimber on a guy for a first gun,I started talking to the guy he wanted to drop 400-600$ so I asked the guy to show him a Springfield G.I. that was 450$ (in his price range) and dude rolled his eyes at me and told the customer I didn't know what I was talking about and the 1000$ Kimber would be best for him. Well dude walked out with me and I sent him to Irvington Arms. I'm sorry rolling your eyes is just about THE RUDEST THING ANYONE CAN DO. Make me want to snatch those eyes right out of their skull.. Irvington Arms is an awsome place they told me if you want to B.S. guns or just rub guns your welcome anytime. Now thats customer service.

The others, well......they just never learn.

If you can get to Milpitas you can make it to the Reeds indoor range. When I go there they tend to leave people alone (at least that's my experience) and the facility is head & shoulders above Milpitas. I will say I've not had a bad experience at Milpitas though.

And what were you going to do with that loaded gun? Verbal insults doesn't count as an "immediate fear for your life".

I said nothing to him other than "Yes you did, Oh okay I'm sorry"

It was a slightly overweight guy that appeared to be of middle eastern or Indian descent.

I would do nothing with that loaded gun other than put rounds down range through paper (with decent grouping I might add). If you read the whole thread I already addressed that statement.

This is not about getting yelled at the range, I've seen that at almost any range I've been too but with all due respect. But never EVER have I seen someone insult a customer. I am far from a gang banger, I always clean up my shells, never shoot headshots, and am very safe and careful with my firearm(s)

The OP wasn't suggesting that he was tempted to do anything stupid. He was only commenting on the fact that only a moron would insult somebody with a weapon in his hands (reinforcing the fact that the TM employee was a complete tool).

That rule always cracks me up. Got to love a range that is more concerned about their gear than about giving you the legitimate target shooting experience you've paid for. I've also wondered if it is because their employees can't shoot worth crap, so they assume the customer can't either.

Sorry I haven't read the whole thing. Anyways, if it's REALLY bothering you...which pretty much did since you're posting this to the public, I'd recommend resolving by contacting the owner/manager.

Just be civilized. At least you've said your peace and now the ball's in their court. They can just take your comments with a grain of salt and give you a FREE membership or they can continue on losing business from valuable customers. Or that dude gets fired...which is what he deserves if he continues doing that.

Trust me, I've worked at both ends and the best way to keep or lose a business is how you treat your patrons.

Go over tomorrow and tell them how you were treated. You'll feel better for it.

                      Just my thoughts.

I'm just saying that having a loaded weapon while someone insults you doesn't make your more a "man" or better than anyone else...which is what his statement proclaims. I tend to see both sides from the tool's perspective and from the one holding a loaded weapon. It just keeps me in check.

Just my thoughts, so please don't take this as a retaliation or an insult.

                          To the OP...

The comment that the employee told you was just unnecessary and it was clearly and insult that he had to no right to say it to you the paying customer. I would not leave this matter alone until you spoke with his boss. I can't even imagine how many people this clown has insulted.

+1 for bullseye, they are well stocked on Kimber.

I understand where youre coming from and I think my statement could be construed in a bad light, but I meant nothing of the sort, but as Gryff said it was just to reinforce the fact that this guy was just being a jerk and had no care about customer service/treatment. I made this thread to let other fellow gun owners read feedback about where and who to goto when it comes to shooting/buying guns.

Heck I would have never heard of Irvington Arms and how cool they are about OLL if someone hadn't mentioned it. I have tried to visit every gun store and range in the bay area and report back on which ones I liked and which ones I didn't and why i felt whatever way I felt. In doing this I feel I am offering some feedback to other CG'ers on where they may go for excellent service and where they should avoid due to bad service. Its all for the better good.

I have been going to Target Masters for approximately 12 years and still have never had a bad experience. Even the slightly overweight guy that appeared to be of middle eastern or Indian descent has always been helpful and courteous to me. I guess each time I have gone I must have went at all of the right times to avoid any BS. Maybe I should buy a lotto ticket

I agree that the PPT takes an average of about an hour, but their selection is pretty good and prices are not too bad either.

Irvington ROCKS btw! PPT takes less roughly 10 - 15 minutes!
