What types of forces where involved to propel you 7-8 feet from your attacker, but you still remain relatively un harmed and concuss and alert(ish)A man twice my size called me over to him in the dark of night. I did not know this man so I continued on. The suddeny I heard footsteps rushing up behind me and tha same man said "boy you better listen to me when im talking to you" and bam! I saw a flash of light as he punched me in the side of my head. I heard oohs and ahhs as I fell to the ground and somehow landed on my back 7 or 8 feet away from my attacker.
He rushed you those 7-8 feet and you had time to draw and fire 3 times? Most people are not getting a gun out in 2 seconds or less, much less anyone hit hard enough to move 7-8 feet. A guy closing those 7-8 feet could do it faster than you can click-click-click
you had the wherewithal to yell freeze, but not to defeat your safety? Please tell me you practice laying on the ground yelling freeze and not drawing and removing the safety.
So you fired at the ground and the man jumped into the area that you were firing at? Not back, not left, not right, but the only other direction available to a human...into the path of the bullet just fired?e backed up giving me time to get back on my feet. This is where i realized the safty was still on. I stepped back with my weapon pointed towards the ground and he rushes towards me again so I fired a round into the ground near he feet. He then immediately jumped into a push up position as I backed away and got the hell out of the area.Comment

I haven't heard such a pile of b.s. since my pathological liar of a neighbor moved out of the neighborhood.
Dude, if you were really serious about this story, you've got a big problem. Get some help fast.
Like my neighbor, after a while you will start to believe your own b.s.
Some of his stories included,
Skydiving with a shoot that did not open. Not once, but 6 times.
Doing a halo jump into West Germany to dispatch the chancellor.
Being a tunnel rat in Vietnam. My neighbor weighed 285 pounds.
Taking out 6-7 Irvine police, in the station while handcuffed.
Being a gynecologist.
Being a brain surgeon.
Lots of blood and guts war stories . He never went to war, but he almost lost his cookies when I cut myself working on my Harley.
If you are doing this for entertainment, your going to have to be way more creative to entertain anyone with an I.Q.

If its true you need to work on the story, but the story is a bit hard to believe, consider I personally experience a robbery attempt http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=786110
and your story has a lot of problems/issue to be believable.
1. Turning your back to an aggressive person
2. Heard oohs and ahhs? Someone else around? or was that you oohing and ahhing?
3. landed on your back 7 to 8 feet away from attacker? Maybe you have cat like landing skills, but 7 to 8 feet? that's awfully far. He must have fist the size and weight of a car or you were running full sprint and he some how punched you on the side of the head sending you falling and sliding 7 to 8 feet.
4. You had time to to draw your pistol from concealment? assuming IWB and pull the trigger 3 times and yell freeze after when he was 7 to 8 feet away? Either the attacker stood there recharging his energy to his fist lol... Realistically I would imagine he pouncing you and beating you into a bloody pulp.
5. Push up position ? I have no comment
6. You got the hell out of the area? Strange, are you legal CCW? Not detaining the guy until the police arrived?
So those problems listed above makes me wonder if the story is BS, and if its true are you legal CCW and had any training at all?
to answer your question,
You would be in a lot of trouble, legal issues, your gun taken as evidence and you booked, bail, and months to years until the case is settled and $$$$ attorney fees. If there was no witnesses or camera's you just killed an unarmed man, that would be a fun battle.Comment

This ^^^^
Story doesn't sound believable. A normal reaction would have been fight or flight, not exercise.Comment
