Starting cleanup. I made a big mess with that fire retardant foam... It's still on my hands and not coming off.

All bottles removed and cleaned. Then did a good cleaning on the outside.

Still working on the inside, need to finish up the drywall and fill gaps with plywood and foam.

                Awesome

However it isn't Gov Moon-Beam that's coming for your guns, it's these guys:

                  Awesome project, thanks for sharing.

I have a friend who started something very similar but ended up abandoning the hidden room aspect, and went with a walk in Vault stlye with actual bank safe door.

I like the hidden in plain sight thing myself.

                  Good luck, looks real good.

                      Very nicely done.

If I may, maybe put something on the plain part of the door, anything, empty racks, just to further disguise the opening.

VERY nice work, though, that's really cool.

                      Thanks for sharing.

I was considering taking a spare bedroom upstairs and using the vault door idea but at this time my wife and I are not sure how many kids we will have. If we only end up having 2 or 3 then I may do that in the future as the room is in the back part upstairs with nothing on any side.

My only concern would be the windows, I couldn't put bars on them.

How about some sort of security windows? Polycarbonate glass, strong frames, things like that. They have to exist, since that's what I'm considering for the house I'm buying

why not? you could have interior bars that couldn't be seen from the outside. and they do have release mechanisms that can be triggered to release the bars in an emergency.
