You have to get an alarm system. One of my neighbors had his safe stolen. They used his truck that was parked in the garage to steal the safe.

In my neighborhood, they are targeting police officers to try and steal weapons.

Unfortunately most, but not all, alarm systems can be disabled by merely smashing the control panel circuit board before the alarm is sent. There is always a delay on the systems if you are gone because you don't want the system to go off every time you come home. Even more unfortunate is that the alarm panel typically is making a lot of noise and makes it VERY easy for a criminal to locate the alarm-they are typically VERY close to the control keypad.

If you know who it was have the detectives pull their photos from DMV and put together a "6 pack" to have them look at and ID them. If they point them out that should be enough for a warrant.

It's easier than you think. It took me and one friend to move my 600lb (it's rated for 20 long guns max, might be able to cram 10) entry level safe from the garage (where it was delivered) into my house and into the closet I bolted it to the foundation in. And we just used our hands and cardboard. A hand truck/dolly would have cut the time from 5 minutes to about 2.

That really sucks and getting kicked while down is worse. At least you have suspects in mind. Let the cops do the work.

That doesn't work with these guys. Their alarms send a signal to the monitoring facility whenever they get tripped and nothing short of entering the code will be able to cancel it. They're priced better than the ones you see on TV too.

And not to mention with alarm systems you get now a days (at least mine) we have more than one control panel to access the alarm. However, the "brain" or circuit control board is tucked away and is not even close to those control panels and it makes NO noise.

this is why I have armscare+ from the NRA + add-on coverage. If you know who did it, and they were "after your safe" for a year... why the freak did they have info on you (why did you associate with them). Fishy.

I pay an extra $10.00 a month on my alarm system so even if the phone line is cut the system still can send out a signal to the alarm office.

If you have ADT/Brinks a thief can just smash the panel to prevent the alert from being sent out.
