Neighbors saw 3 guys coming out and with a large safe and didn't think to let their presence be known. Hell scream or yell say hey police on the way or something.

I would hit every shop in the area but if the theives have half a brain, they're.going out of state to sell everything off.
It takes all of 20 mins to anchor the safe down. Sorry to hear about this, that suck big time.

The smart, learn from their own mistakes.

It would seem the bad guys knew the OP and what he had beforehand. Any "hey , what you doin?" requests would have been met with "Oh its no problem, Meka had us move his safe while he's on vacation. We're with XYZ movers".

And that would have been that. Unless the thieves gave off a shady vibe or acted like criminals, no one would have reason to suspect a heist was in progress. To the bystander, it looks like a moving company is just doing their jobs.

If one can move a safe with a mere hand truck, it's not a safe, it's a toy box.

The rule of Texas should be applied when shopping for a safe: Bigger is better.

Hope you get your gear back OP.

Seems you have "acquaintances" NOT "friends" if you don't trust them. There is a big difference between the two, in my book at least.

To the OP, that sure sucks and I hope you get your stuff back or at least see the guy go to jail.

Neighbors can be helpful but only if you associate with them.

Not that I would do it, but if I saw a car that I wanted, what's the best way to steal it? Why, with a tow truck, of course ... in broad daylight.

Unless the neighbors associated, a tow truck in broad daylight would most likely make the neighbors think the car was getting repo'ed and would go out of their way to "mind their own business". If everyone talked, the neighbors would know the car was paid off.

Same thing with the same. If the guys had moving shirts, or even shirts that matched, most neighbors are going to think it was a hired move.

My friend and I had a heck of a time bringing my empty safe in the house. Very back breaking to say the least. This sucks to hear. I got my heavy safe bolted down, wireless monitored alarm system for every door and window, dogs, and I still always wonder in the back of my mind if everything is OK. You can only do so much with what you have, sorry for your loss.
