    Had safe stolen!

My safe was stolen on 5/10/13. Over 20 guns gone! I was out of state when it happened. I, and the police have no doubt I know exactly who sent his friends in to remove my safe.
You can't emagine the feeling when you get a phone call saying you door was kicked in and neighbors saw three guys coming out of your house with a hand truck with something that looked like a large box.
Neighbors got plate number and vehicle description. Plates were stolen.
Very hard not to confront the one you know is responsible.

Wow that sounds terrible, sorry to hear it. How heavy was your safe if you don't mind me asking? I'm surprised they were able to move it fully loaded with guns.

I hope they are able to recover them for you. If you know who did it that sounds promising....

Resist the urge to confront now....let the police handle it. Sorry to hear it happened but it does happens when people know what you have. Modesty is the key in this thing of ours.

That sucks! Hope you get your stuff back, and the perps get a long stay in a government institution with a roommate named Bruno, who is a bit kinky!
            Sorry, not sorry.

I'm sorry about you getting you gear jacked and hope you get it back. How was it attached? Not going to start preaching how you should have done this, or should have done that. Knowing how the crooks were able to defeat whatever level of security you deployed might be useful info here for one of us to prevent this from happening to our safe(s).

Im dealing with a divorce and the sale of my house. I had just moved. With the divorce, long hours at work and needing to go out of state I didn't have time to anchor my safe down. I had planned on storing my safe at a friends house. The person I know was involved heard my safe was at this friends house. Two days later my friends house was broken into. Everything did not add up until my safe was stolen. This person was after my safe for nearly a year.
The neighbors gave a very good description of the vehicle and people that broke into my house. But I'm sure I will never see my guns again

That sucks to hear. This is why the manufacturer tells you to bolt it down, they won't honor the warranty if it wasn't.

sounds like they went in prepared, and, they knew what they wanted

also sounds like there is a back story to the guy(s) you think did it?

hopefully the police can recover your stuff...i'll be rooting for ya

Leave your guns with someone you can trust when your out of town (someone who doesn't 'get robbed'). Even if safes are hidden and bolted, they are always a huge liability. Thieves dream of safes. It means all the good stuff has already been put in a box for them. The bigger the box, the better the booty. Quite encouraging for them.

As you rebuild your collection, I hope you practice some discretion when showing off your new pieces.

Sucks to hear this! This is the reason why very few of my friends know where I live and once I move, even less will know, or know I have guns. I'm wondering if lowjack can be installed in a safe? I've already lined up a security company to have armed response on the new house.
With all this "gun control" talk, I've not heard one politician say how they plan on taking guns from criminals, just law abiding Citizens.
