There was a dude who just sold a CMP 'correct grade' M1 on the board for less than CMP charges. I think it was a great deal. The marketplace works.

To quote an overused cliche: "It is what it is."

And I have no problems with the expensive HK45. Simple economics. Do I hear $1500? $1600?

emc002. I asked you for a link to this place you claim has the same item for "significantly less". I still do not see it in this thread or a PM from you.

No self pity circle jerk here. No martyrdom intended. I am requesting your assistance in getting my price to fair market value. You said it was available and I have looked but can not find a source. Please assist.

Maybe significantly less to you and I are different. I would think that putting a price on something (following the rules) and then saying "make me an offer near mine" implies to most that there is some negotiating room.

Thing is, I cant find a used one in my condition that can beat the price I listed. So please tell all us pelican loving gear nuts where such deals can be found. Share the wealth with fellow calgunners. I already have a potential buyer that is waiting for this sweet deal because as I stated before if you produce a no s$%t add that significantly beats my price I will give it to him for what he has offered me for it.

Where is this Brand New Pelican Case for significantly less than $250 or best resonable offer????????

Below are the # of votes that say something about listing the item or making a buyer aware of a better deal. You voted, along with 36 other calgunners for one of these choices. I think you could at least show them where the better deal is.

Post the better commercial deal right in his thread. 13 votes

PM the poor maroon that is paying too much. 11 votes

Post the better deal in Good Commerical Deals Sub Forum (& hope the buyer finds it!). 13 votes

I ask the moderators to allow him to post the price he found and not view it as a thread crap. I really want to see it so I can adjust the price of my item.

What bothers me is when people use subjective meaning or use opinions as facts to try and justify the outrageous price. Almost like false advertising.

If you want to sell a dozen chicken eggs for $100, that's fine. If someone want's eggs that bad they'll buy them and that's fine too. But don't try to justify that by telling people something like they are "rare in California" or "extremely hard to get in California" unless it's true!

Still, aside from very few exceptions, I usually just keep to myself.

I see a problem with a lot of naive sellers posting their stuff way below market price (especially ammo) and all those Calgunners who get to play on internet all day because they don't have a real job of meaning pounce all over it with "I'll take its" within 60 seconds.

Then after I or other honest Calgunner PM the seller about the error of their ways and the seller withdraws the item for sell we get allot of colloquy crying babies complaining about ethics and honest business practices about not honoring the for sale price.....while not mentioning that they knew the item was worth way more than they were offering and could easily sell for such. Then we get all the pouting, crying, name calling, and whining (like that spoiled little child at the supermarket wanting his candy) in hopes it will affect a normal adult into giving in under the childish behaviour and cave in and sell it at way below market price which they probably learned to do as children when they threw a tantrum and cried out loud incessantly to get their parents to buy them candy bars. Somehow those buyers consider that all ethical and normal behaviour.
So I don't do any research, post a price I feel is fair and when I don't sell it to you even though you said you would pay the price I asked, its ok?

All this because some busybody was looking out for my best interest?

              BS

Mind your own business. Post what you feel comfortable posting, all this talk of childishness makes you look like a poor sport. Keep those remarks to yourself.

PS: I get paid handsomely by the head janitor to spend all day on the board so I don't have to work. That is why I answer in 60 seconds.

Except an "I'll take it" is a done deal. Seller should expect he'll get money, buyer should expect he'll get the stuff. If the seller backtracks and responds that somebody's offered a better price, he has no ethics or honor and should be banned...last seller I can recall that did that created a major crapstorm and, thank God, left the forum. If the buyer finds that he can't complete the deal, he shouldn't have posted the "I'll take it" to start with. Real simple

Apparently you have a 'real job', whatever that is. If you looking for a deal, you may need to check the Marketplace at very strange hours during the day. Try getting parts for a rare gun...the last FAL receiver I sold was gone in 6 minutes from my original post...some stuff will not last. Same issue may appear for stuff like retro AR parts or SW revolvers, to mention a couple. You need a lot more patience

Again, if a seller withdraws an item after an "I'll take it", he indeed has NO ethics. Why would anybody do a deal with a welcher?? That's what the little marketplace feedback link is for. If you can't be taken on your word, who'd want to send you money in the future. Ethical and normal behavior on a For Sale forum is to do what you'll say you do the first time and every time. Back tracking after an "I'll take it" is NOT ethical. You try that behavior on arfcom or the FAL files marketplace and see the results.

Your post is definitely NOT the way things should happen here

I didn't read through all this BS. The poll results are pretty clear. Let capitalism do its work. People willing to pay money should get what they are willing to pay. We don't need any more socialist movements in California.

                          1SGMAT,
You've taken this obviously very personally. It was not intended as such and I'm sorry that you've perceived this as a personal attack.
There have been quite a few 4 sale threads lately, uppers, stocks, etc. that have been overpriced over NIB commercial vendors. Yours was simply the last I saw before I posted the thread.

Did I exaggerate my poll to slant to my opinion? Of course.
Did I use rhetoric to enhance my argument? Naturally, I finally got a poll where I got a ton of responses!
Did I find your item for less, brand new, commercially? Yes.

Was it "significant"? Nope! Truly lower price for NIB? Yes.

Did I ever out you? Nope, you did that to yourself. I thought my description was nondescript enough to not identify anyone.

Quite frankly, I think LeeLaw and UCLAPlinker made the best points in this whole discussion/flamefest:

$4 less then add shipping, vs what's the best price on the net?

I'm sorry - there's doing research, then there's searching EVERYWHERE to make sure you're under the very best price out there.

IMHO he did nothing wrong and did what's exactly right - he set price below retail, then continued to cut it down when it didn't sell. If you don't have all year to figure out prices, that's the best way to do it.

To answer another question - Pythons are NOT rare, they are however limited far more in CA. Only CA pythons can be bought/sold in CA. No out of state ones can. As CA population and firearms consumption continues to outpace the rest of the country, what do you expect to see on the price of Colt revolvers (and any out of production or unlisted item) in CA?
