1. Highland (5 minutes from Inland Fish and Game)
3. 2 weekends/month

Info tidbits:

* Planning a USFS offroad shoot (small group) near Big Bear on Dec 20 or 21. If you have a 4X4 and/or wanna go let me know.

* I'm a business owner so I usually have a line on outdoor supplies, among other things. MRE's, emergency rations, packs, sleeping bags, etc.

All my friends think the stock market is going to go up in 3 months and every thing will be fine,my girlfriend thinks Im crazy for spending $400 dollars on beans and rice, powdered milk and spam. I say If I loose $1000 dollars on extra food its no big deal, but if a big disaster earthquake or hyperinflation from all these bailouts where to happen that food would be priceless.

So far the date looks to be Dec 21....weather permitting. Will have more details first part of the week. Feel free to PM for details.

Weather Update for Sunday Dec 21: Mostly Sunny with high of 50. However, there may be 8-12 inches of snow on the road. The trip will have to be cancelled if the road is impassable or if the Forest Service closes the road and or shooting area.

Does anyone frequent Daves Range in San Bernardino, Inland Fish and Game or any shooting areas in the San Bernardino National Forest?

  • High Desert
  • USAF wheel gunner now doing semis and wheel.
  • Shoot mainly at Apple Valley Gun Club and occasionally at Dave's in SB
  • Steel challenge once a month, Defensive pistol once a month and once or twice more a month just for the heck of it.

1. Area-French Valley (next to N/E Murrieta)
2. Military/Leo training-27yrs. lasd, retired now
3. Days open for shoots-retired, so anytime, tho I prefer during the week to avoid crowds. Will do weekends.
4. any other info you want-Having been looking forward to something like this for a long time. 1. for a chance to shoot. 2. a chance to meet other members.
I have to opt out of the Big Bear shoot if that's going to be the location for the get together. No 4x4 and because of my bad back, I really don't go hiking and definitely don't do the snow thing. I can't take the chance of slipping and falling; 4 surgeries is a nice round number and I want to keep it that way.. I'm open to stuff in the flatlands tho. Lytle Creek is a favorite of mine even tho it isn't real close to me. Been going there for 5yrs.

1. From San Bernardino, parents live in Colton now and I live up here in Big Bear.

2. Was in the Delayed Entry Program for a few months. Went to college instead of boot camp.

3. Open to go shooting whenever I'm not out hunting.

4. For this upcoming Big Bear shoot we can use my place as a meeting point. Remember if you park a vehicle on NF land you are going to need an adventure pass.

Hey Gunaria!?

Do you think Forest Service Road 2N93 will be passable for the shoot on Sunday? You're going right?

I can go check it out on my way down the mountain. But I wouldn't be surprise if the FS closes that road and a bunch of others. What happens a lot of tourists in 2 wheel drives come up here and see a road and say hey I can go there and end up getting stuck. So to avoid that the FS closes a lot of roads.

I may go but I might op to go hunting in the desert instead. I'll keep you guys posted.

The other shooting area that is open that may not have a bunch of snow is Forest Road 2N02 East of Baldwin Lake Road.

Sorry I forgot to remind you about the Combat Club at Rainbow last weekend. Did you happen to know Bob or Rob Snapper while you were with the SD?

With more snow dumping right now adding to what has already fallen FS Road 2N93 might not be passable, let alone if one can even find the road. I will still scout it out for you on my way down.

Welcome Ducman!

Depends on the condition of FS Road 2N93. there may be too much snow or the FS may close the road. I'll post updates here.

I'll forgive you for forgetting.. Nope, didn't know the Snappers. I'd like to take you up on your offer to shoot at Rainbow sometime, thanks. I intend to join, but since they don't prorate, I'll wait until Jan. As said earlier, being retired, I can go pretty much anytime. During the week is preferable since it is usually less crowded.
