Wow, I've been there several times and never had that experience. Even with my noob questions about mil-spec vs. comm spec. And those were some SERIOUS noob questions... They were patient, kind, and willing to help out.

Heck, one Sunday, one of the fellows spent 25-30 minutes with the wife and I, helping her figure out what kind of stock felt better for her short arms. Great advice. And their Sundays are SLLOOWWW with not enough employees for all of the customers that show up.

Sorry you had such an experience there. That store makes me never want to visit the Norwalk Turners again, and I kinda like that Turners...
If I believed in luck, then I'd have to be the luckiest guy in the world. My wife likes guns!sigpic

Terrific staff from what I could see.
On the flip side, Turner's Corona is by the far the worst Turner's I've ever been to. They made us wait over an hour for doing a PPT, and kept transferring us around to various staff, who in term kept "juggling" us back and forth and ignoring us, and then finally, when someone was "free," they looked at the gun we wanted to PPT, and they refused us (it was a Saiga 762), and said they don't transfer those because it's a "gray area." Luckily, we found another gunshop down the street that actually had brains on what was legal and not.

A big middle finger salute to Turner's Corona. Thanks for wasting our time, I'm sure it took a lot of effort on your part.

Now well hold on here. The Big5 in Moreno Valley has an older guy that works the counter and is very helpful. I was in there one day while waiting for my friend to pick up some guard supplies (Color Guard for RCC Band) so I went perusing the rifles. He knew exactly what gun I was talking about, the history of it, what I should look for when buying one, and where to find ammo if they didnt have it in stock at the time. He also then recommended that I look for private party sale first before coming back to buy one since they are priced at the store for profit. My Big5 is awesome.

I won't deal with anybody but Fort Courage in Simi Valley. Tim and his crew are top notch.

I did buy a safe from Turners a few months ago. They are weird.

A bit far from LA (Laguna Hills), but OC Armory is absolutely outstanding. Their stuff isn't cheap, but they deliver. Think you can't legally get the equivalent of a 'sawed-off' shotgun? Think again.

I haven't had a negative experience yet, but I can say that the BEST experience I have had is at Dynamic Gun Sales in Yucaipa, California. Thank you Bobby.

When I was still at school I would regularly stop by Vallejo's Triple A guns. There was a post on it about a year ago that I found after some digging. Here it is. I highly recommend it. The place is secure, and the employees are no-nonsense, approachable guys. They do not suffer fools, and any idiots or clowns that walk in trying to start trouble are dealt with quickly. The only problem I encountered when there was an issue they had with people who just came to browse. Half the time I walked in, I barely had the cash to get a box of rounds. Unlike a lot of shops in the Inland Empire that I'm used to, they do not seem to be interested in friendly conversation. I guess I can't blame them - they are in the heart of one of the worst areas of California.

AOW shotguns are a-ok in CA. But it requires NFA paperwork (additional on top of DROS) and other 'red tape' crap. Here's an example of one that they sell.
