    Another idiot at the range

So me and my bud got too the range today and before we load out our stuff and set up, i go talk to the only other person out their shooting and guess what happened next! If you guessed he gave me $100 you're wrong, if you guessed he showed me nude pics of his wife you're wrong, but if you guessed he turned around and had his pistol pointing at my chest you're correct! Yup, another idiot who cant handle a gun safely. It amazes me how people like this can live past their 16th birthday. If they are this careless with a firearm, imagine how careless they are with other things that are dangerous like cars, nail guns and gas ovens. Well had to get it off my chest.

More than likely, he wasn't fat or old enough to be retired or a DOD employee.

I work at a shooting range, and the first thing I always do is ask "Do you have any experience w/firearms?" Of course no man in front of his friends wants to admit that they don't know what they are doing, so I hand them a mag and some snapcaps and ask them to load the magazine. If they even manage to to put he cartridges in the right way we are still moving forward here. Then I take the (fake) loaded mag place it in the gun and chamber the first round and put the gun on the table in front of them , taking one full step to the right. This is usualy the point where they put thier finger right on the trigger and pick up the gun sweeping you and others behind the counter. If they manage to get past that point we are still not home free, today I had a guy rack the slide for every round in the mag to clear all ten, somewhere after the second round, I took the gun and told him he is welcome to take our saftey class but with out it I can't let you shoot here. And then comes my favorite speach from them. "Dude it's not even loaded with real bullets". My response is "All guns are loaded guns, and there are no re-starts like a video game." Sorry to rant and to hear about your scarry experience, next time it happens report to the range master, and let the guy know that next time he does it, you are going to take his action as a sign of aggression and you will act accordingley...let him try to figure out what accordingley means.

So you asked him to unload the gun and he wanted to rack the slide for each one?

My dad doesn't own guns or shoot so he didn't teach me, but the four universal rules were always drilled into my head, so I rarely if ever sweep anyone with the barrel.

F microstamping we should start a "Sweeper" profiling system here. Take mug shots of the offender and post them kind of like the pederast sites for our nieghborhoods.

I live on an Air Force base and i shoot on base at the gun club, milsurpshooter is also my brother. Unfortunately I don't belive AF personnel get enough firearms training, but they know enough to be dangerous. Although this doesn't mean everyone in the AF is a total moron with a gun. After all, all my shooting bud's are AD military.

I thought about having a wall of shame, just like when people write bad checks you can pin up pic's of people who do stupid stuff out there. But i don't think that will happen.
