AF what a FREAKIN SURPRISE!! I served 2 of my four years on Kadena AFB in the Marines on Okinawa, Japan. Nice people the AF, but not to in tune with being in the military. I grabbed this AF MP's m16 which was in condition one and almost beat him with it, when he left it alone, leaned up next to his table in a flight line cafe. When I grabbed it I dropped the mag and racked the slide back to the rear and a .223 left the chamber! I came unglued!! I must have given this kid a lecture for 10 minutes about how you always keep your hand on your weapon if its loaded, and if its not loaded at least keep it in arms reach at all times! Man i was pissed, when I got back to my unit I told my Master Guns what had happened, he just laughed and told me if somebody called about what had happened he would take care of it!!
The only people I would trust in the AF with a loaded weapon is a PJ!!!!

I was at a local range a couple of weeks ago, and a guy puts his gun case on the bench - MUZZLE POINTING "UPRANGE." Then he proceeds to take out an expensive sniper rifle, and sweeps the entire line with it.
I've also seen people bring guns out of their cars, with no cases, and proceed to carry them to the line like baseball bats (hand on the middle of the rifle - with muzzle pointing slightly up and forward).Comment

A couple of years ago I was doing a job at Moffett Field. For lunch we'd walk across the street to the golf course club house.
One day a couple of Air National Guard Security Police came in. One of them had an M16A2 slung over his shoulder on a three point tactical sling.
The rifle had a mag in the well. It was hanging 45 degrees off his back. He was oblivious to the direction the muzzle was pointing. Every time he turned he swept the muzzle under our chins.
I politely told him to maintain muzzle control. When he realized what I was talking about he was a little embarrassed.
I also noted that the mag pouches on his ALICE gear weren't full.Originally posted by ChrisTKHarrisThat is one of the most idiotic statements I've heard. You are a retard.Comment

This is exactly why I stopped going the The American Shoting Center in San Diego almost two years ago. This happened many times to me ( think around 8 to be exact). What annoyed me the most was the lack of involvment and neglect the range masters had in keeping an eye on their range, especially with renters who obviously don't know their head from their behind. Besides, going to Borrego Springs is way better. No idiots around you and no one to give you any flak. But that's just my opinion.
So me and my bud got too the range today and before we load out our stuff and set up, i go talk to the only other person out their shooting and guess what happened next! If you guessed he gave me $100 you're wrong, if you guessed he showed me nude pics of his wife you're wrong, but if you guessed he turned around and had his pistol pointing at my chest you're correct! Yup, another idiot who cant handle a gun safely. It amazes me how people like this can live past their 16th birthday. If they are this careless with a firearm, imagine how careless they are with other things that are dangerous like cars, nail guns and gas ovens. Well had to get it off my chest.Comment

i was at the range here in fresno and i watched a kid point a loaded 22 at us. he just got it for x-mas and was shooting it for the frist time apperntly. soon after i backed off the fireing line (and behind my car) i saw his father smack the living crap outta him and took the rifle and cased it up and the kid just sat there and watched everyone else have fun.Weatherby Vanguard 30-06, Ruger 10/22, Mossberg 500, sig-p6/225, springfield GI 45,

Ted had suggested that someone was perhaps, not accepted into the military.
Then, it was stated that the military was took volunteers.
To which I replied,Originally posted by milsurpshooterby the way the military takes volunteers. they dont accept applications. just so you know.
So, I don't understand what "trash talk" is going on.Originally posted by jdbergerYes. But they do have minimum standards.
Does the military NOT have minimum standards? They did when I went in. Or was my statement somehow cutting on a personal level?
If it was, that was not my intention.Rest in Peace - Andrew Breitbart. A true student of Alinsky.
