Front MBUS must be mounted to a railed fore end on the same plane as the receiver rail.

And FWIW, a Calgunner recently tested this and was unable to get his MBUS to melt.

Maybe Gen-2 melts and Gen-1 didn't?

A few warned me of this when I put one on my gas block, I ended up going with a Troy in front.

something like the heat from 60 rounds even at slow fire is enough to throw the zero.

sorry i have been busy havent had a chance to respond to all the wonderful slams lol. i just tossed the mount in the trash sorry i didnt take pics of it. yeah i had it on a high rise gas block zero at 100. i think im going to be going with the troys or i will just buy a front hand gaurd with a rail on it to mount another mbus. not sure what direction im going to go just yet. i will keep you posted lol.
