Meanwhile I'm here wishing I could afford a nice flashlight and rail....
Quite honestly, it's uses may not seem the most practical initially, but the more you consider it, it can serve its purpose in emergency situations.

Nobody said anything about being a bad shooter. You can hit the target 10 times and not drop him. Do some research (I'm not gonna waste my time doing it for you because you're the one that's wrong) and you'll find real-life reports of cops doing MAG DUMP AFTER MAG DUMP into bad guys before the bad guy finally drops dead. Off the top of my head I'm recalling one where the cop made 23 (TWENTY THREE) solid hits on the bad guy before he finally expired. Adrenaline and narcotics make the human body work in funny ways.

10 rounds of .223 traveling at 3200 fps with 1250 lbs ft to a target less than 15 feet away.

          Or 10 rounds of .308 , 2650 fps and 2610 lbs ft.

          Less than 15 feet away.

          Whatever dude.

And what are you gonna tactical reload your rifle before the crazed PCPd out dude charges you and eats your face off?

What impeccable logic. I present you with facts that go against your argument and you counter with some numbers that don't really mean anything definitive and a "whatever dude." Outstanding.

Wow. Obviously if he's RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU and you run dry then you've been caught in a very bad situation. Good job on COMPLETELY missing the point of my original post. The point is that there are scenarios where the ability to quickly reload would indeed be beneficial.

What facts did you show? I must be stupid cause all I saw was stuff you read or heard but couldn't remember the specifics since when is that facts.

Yeah, but thats where a sidearm come in handy. Unless your some super tactialy skilled operator its faster to just draw your sidearm.

Your facts? Or anecdotal from the internet?

My fact? A round of .223 has 1250 lbs ft of MV, .308 has 2620 lbs ft of MV. Those are the 2 most commom auto rifles, which are what the OP was refering to. As opposed to 427 lbs ft of a .40 S&W fired from a hand gun, which is what most LEO's use these days.

Physics and Biology. Kinetic Energy vs Soft tissues.

                    And your facts were???

                      Best Reason...

I have the Best Reason to have a flashlight on any firearm I own...

BECAUSE I DAMN WELL WANT TO!

How about you not worry about how I (or anyone else) configure my firearms and I won't worry about why you feel the need to comment on how other people spend their time and money.

This is almost as bad as the antis asking us why we feel the need for certain firearms!!!

Which is why i asked why the OP felt the need to have at least 8 mags 2 handguns and a rifle when a simple single shot or side by side would be more than enough to protect yourself

It's not a rifle mounted light.

                          It's a tactical photon launcher!

Whelp, that settles it. I'm gonna be putting my lights up for sale because you guys have convinced me that weapon mounted lights serve no purpose other than making my gun tacticool. Thanks for helping me realize this guys!

Nowadays the lights are lightweight, small size, rather inexpenisve, with long lasting battery life, usefully powerful, and easy to attach/detach on-the-fly.

I guess it is better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

Seems the benefits outnumber the drawbacks. Sure, I don't mind to put one on my rifle.

                                Regards,
