GPal (Gunpal) problems?

I have no information other than what bits I've gathered reading a lot of web postings here and other places but it seems like a reasonable conclusion from incomplete information that GPal is just about done. What a huge heap of stinking dung. Started with such high hopes and enthusiasm and the endorsement and support from CalGuns.net and CalGuns Foundation. It was a great concept.

My concern is damage control on behalf of CalGuns and CGF. They clearly have no direct involvement or responsibility for this epic mess, but just as clearly have the potential to have their reputations dragged through the previously mentioned heap of ****.

I have no training or experience in PR but it seems like clear and honest statements from the two entities could be of great benefit. Including that GPal was started with the encouragement and support of these two orgs and that they are deeply dismayed and disappointed by the course of events. And that they have no direct connection or responsibility. Tell the truth just as it is and let the reputation healing begin.

Would this be better or worse than standing mute? Perhaps such a statement has already been posted and I've just missed in the flood of GPal posts.

Does Mr. Cannon still have any ownership interest in GeoVario, LLC? Is he currently involved in any way with the day-to-day operations of GeoVario? If not, when did such involvement and/or ownership end?

No, he resigned all ownership interests when we left GeoVario.

No, he has had no hand in any day to day activities for well - at least a couple months before he resigned officially - his nearly constant absence at GeoVario was what prompted the discussion of him leaving in Nov 2009. ( i.e. he was spending all his time on GunPal anyway - so why stay at GeoVario )

Does he have independent physical access to any of GeoVario's servers? (i.e., can he show up at a datacenter by himself and access the hardware, or would he have to be accompanied by yourself or another GeoVario owner/member/employee?) In other words, does he get special treatment or extra perks as compared with "normal" GeoVario customers?

No - his access was removed when he resigned. Additionally I am currently required to be physically present if anyone wants to remove anything from any of GeoVario's racks in any datacenters.

No - he has no "special" treatment or perks; he and his company GPal, are treated exactly the same as all other GeoVario customers.

Unfortunately in a Class Action suit the only people that get any real money are the lawyers ... on both sides. The injured parties get diddly.

And they only get that much if the one being "class actioned" has any assets. I don't think a 10 year old BMW is going to go very far in covering what GPAL owes.

Dear god, are you saying that if they stopped accepting money they wouldn't have money to pay out to people that have already put money in???? They are (supposedly) merely transferring monies. Every cent should be accounted for (even if it is "currently unavailable" or "slowly being processed." To suggest otherwise is suggesting that they are robbing Peter to pay Paul (not Nordberg) in essentially a Ponzi scheme. Mind you, I am not saying they are doing that, but the idea that if they stop accepting new funds they can't pay out on the old transfers is scary.

That is right! I just hope Mr Cannon did not commit gross mismanagement of the funds he was suppose to transfer.

I'd be willing to bet dollars to donuts that getting a picture of himself next to that car is as close as he came to owning it.

You're right! I doubt the dude owns a Ferrari since he rolls around in a beat-up BMW and lives with his parents, defaulted on his Amex cards, etc.

Can we have a petition or poll to see who wants Gpal to take its customer support center to it's own site? I'd start one but I wouldn't know where/how nor do I want to get bammered.

I get the feeling most every calgunner would like to see them go away.

I want people to get help, I feel for them, but I don't think calguns is the right place for it.

I'd like to see a poll too... but not only can I not figure out how to make one, but can't see one lasting very long before being disappeared.

Personally... I think Calguns should treat GPal like a conjoined fetal twin... cut it off and let it live or die on it's own.

The moderators there have done an excellent job and the members have diligently shone light upon things that never see the light of day here. That discrepancy shows Calguns in a very bad light. Or rather, when Calguns has the bright light of truth turned fully upon it, it looks poorly.
