To the people who say, you'll get caught and charged and then put in jail, now what use are you to protect your loved ones. IF you cannot effectively conceal a subcompact handgun on your person, I have no sympathy for you, ITS NOT HARD.
It means you aren't making the correct sacrifices in the clothing you are wearing or you are just simply incapable of rational decision making and thought processes.

If you get in a car crash and then they somehow find it because you are too injured to unload and secure it in a locked container, oh well life sucks and you'll get charged with a misdemeanor, if you even survive.

After becoming sober I live my life 24 hours at a time, I cannot control nor predict the future but everyday I will be ready to face whatever comes my way, good or bad.

I dont have time to wait for the laws to change, because today could be the day I need that piece of equipment more than anything else I've ever needed in my life, I'm not willing to take the chance of not having effective means to save my life or others lives simply because the socialist liberal law makers of CA say I am not allowed to. They are rich and have their own personal security, to them we are simple peasants and us getting killed on the streets just means there is less conservative opposition to their liberal aganeda.

If we die because we follow their laws, they win.

    I say f*** them.
I will determine my own destiny, they will not.

Is that really a serious question? The way some of you people post, it seems like you'd rather have you and your loved ones shot to death in the street than cross the DA by violating an unconstitutional law.

Literally sickening and pathetic, and you talk about "sheeple" like you aren't exactly that.
Dude, I didn't blast you for your way of thinking/living, I actually respect you for it but I don't appreciate having words put in my mouth. Just because I would think twice before breaking a law doesn't mean I don't want to protect myself or my loved ones, it means I have a brain and common sense to weigh the risks that I'M taking...not my loved ones.

Now that I think about it...maybe you are a bit paranoid.

            Agreed.
I like to look at ways to protect myself and comply with the law.
At least be prepared to make it look like I am complying with the law.
EXAMPLE: Always have a case and lock and keys in your car. If anybody asks, you had enough time to retrieve your unloaded gun from the locked case and load it before engaging the threat.
Always have at least a small DOJ approved safe in your home. If anybody asks, the gun was taken from the safe. You have no idea how the safe was opened without being damaged.

The second part of the post that you highlighted was 100% not directed at you, my apologies if you thought it was.

Also I don't understand why myself finding god and becoming sober somehow effects the way I am allowed to address other forum members in a generalized non-specific manner.

I carry a Kershaw assisted opener from Walmart.
A knife is the worst option unless you know how to used it, are prepared to butcher a human being and you are carrying a wwI style trench knife. Not to mention, defending yourself in court will be a challenge. Just remember that if you lose that knife during and altercation, bad guy may bury into your chest.

Pepper spray is the best option other than a CCW permit, especially if you are a woman.

While this may sound reasonable to some, it's not any specific rule or law. The cop may just think that if you can get to your car to open the trunk and load a firearm, then you should have the same amount of time to drive away. I find that hard to believe where as I gave a scenario above with keeping an unloaded (slide back) firearm in a mounted holster in the trunk and a loaded mag nearby it.

If you are running to your car for your life, you can pop open the trunk via a remote and reach in with one hand for the loaded mag, the other for the handgun. Insert the mag and release the slide and you're ready to go in less than 2 seconds.

If you are running to your car for your life, you can unlock your doors via your remote and then jump in, hoping that you have your ignition key already sticking out of your hand ready to go (that's if you have time to get it ready when you're running for your life, after unlocking the doors via the remote), and then opening the door, jumping in, closing the door, locking the doors, looking down at your steering column to get the key into the small slot (which you will fumble around if you are really stressed in that situation) and then getting the car started and into gear to drive away. And don't forget to release your parking brake if you have that on. A lot longer than 2 seconds, and a chance for the assailant to smash in your driver side window to attack you.

                  Just breaking it down.

You guys are right though, we should follow the letter of the law, unconstitutional or not, and not take risks like being charged with a crime.

Civil rights era activists would agree with this wouldn't they? Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr. etc they never changed anything by breaking the established laws and refusing to submit to an unjust system of government.

They were probably scared of jail too, and I'm willing to bet they had a lot more to be scared about in jail than we do. But that didn't stop them, they refused to follow laws that were designed to humiliate, degrade, and endanger them, just like our self defense and ccw laws.

Everyone is obviously free to make their own choice but I think ill stick with their way of thinking and their civil disobedience.

It affects us because your tone is disrespectful and for someone who has made a major positive change in their life..I would think, would be a little more gracious. Just my opinion of course.

No worries, I have been known to go off in a post (not on this board) but I have learned to turn it down...just not worth it.

What about legal weapons of opportunity? You don't need a gun to inflict extreme pain. Karambits or knives, there has to be some other legal weapon you would be able to keep concealed on your person. It would be terrible to bring a knife to a gunfight. California Tactical is the way to go. Practice getting to that trunk as fast as possible.

Just so you know...you WILL be asked during your background investigations and likely during polygraphs if you've ever carried a weapon concealed on your person before.

I would love to take classes for such things...but they are $$$$$$$$$

Many years ago I was in a car accident in a S10 pick-up. My ex had a pair of nunchucks behind the seat under a blanket, well the blanket shifted in the accident and they were exposed when the cops showed up on the scene. I was charged with possession of a deadly weapon Thank god the ex copped to them being his...the charges were dropped!
