Carrying concealed illegally question

I thought I gave some sound advice but obviously you are so impressionable that you need to know "other's opinions on the matter" instead of choosing to follow the law or not follow the law based on your own terms and level of risk.

I would suggest talking to gun owners outside of a public forum if you want accurate opinions on breaking the law. ...and that's my opinion on this matter.

I've been of the opinion that I'll take my chances by not having my gun concealed on me for now because it would be a shame to lose my gun rights only to have CA go shall issue like a month later.

Though since I nearly got robbed and most likely murdered just this sunday while I was about to leave my campsite, I'm rethinking that position.

Sunday I was threatened with a machete, and a handgun by a guy whom I never met before that just showed up on an ATV with his buddy, and claims to have just gotten out of San Quentin just a few months ago after being there since 87 on murder charges (and he had the prison tats to back it up). My Saiga rifle & shotgun, AR-15, and Mossy 500 were all "safely" unloaded in the car ready for transport, as was my Glock 26 with a loaded mag next to it in its locked case! If I made a move for a firearm I would have been dead for sure. Even how drunk he was, he could still draw on me before I could get a round in the chamber on any of my firearms... thanks to how I had to prepare them to drive legally. As it was I had to drive 10 miles on my rim after he slashed my tire to keep me and my family members from getting away while it was still light out.

At least every day has been a great day this week since then, no one has tried to rob and/or murder me all week!

If you don't like the laws of the state...move. Outright breaking of them and posting that you are going to do so on a public forum that has LE all over it both as members and nonmembers is the definition of stupid and will be used against you if you are ever caught. Get some pepper spray, be aware, and have a gun as close as legally possible.

Yeah, you definitely need to 'rethink' your position on this. And if/when you come to the right decision, stick with it. Just think about 2 very important facts if you start to get nervous while CCW'ing on your own terms: 1. When was the last time you were actually searched/frisked by LEO? 2. Think REAL HARD back to that horrible day and the feeling of helplessness & impending doom you had when that piece of s**t with a voice had you in HIS control. -THAT should get you on your way to successfully CCW (sans "permission") without any worries at all.
"All" it took for my friend to 'wake up' was being shot at one time by a gang-banger with 2 strikes. THAT piece of work carried around a sawed-off, side-by-side 12-GA Lupara without "permission" & had no problem using it indiscriminately & at anytime! When my friend, having ZERO felonies/convictions, etc., was "denied permission" to CCW , he merely continued carrying as he did everyday anyway. All he has to do is remember the very DISTINCT sound of 00 pellets whistling by his left ear a @ 1300 fps. (after a BLINDING explosion from a 12-GA muzzle) to know that he is doing something that anyone with common sense would do. His advice to you would be: find a method of carry that is comfortable with quick access; make DAMN SURE it doesn't "print" on your clothing; and practice drawing under different conditions of stress. Have a friend help you, too. Like I mentioned before, it is in our nature to help others in trouble, but the Sheriff's department has nipped that one in the bud. Real smart, huh?

Before carrying a knife or pepper spray on campus, make sure that the rules allow for that. Some places, they consider those to be on the same order as carrying a firearm. Colleges here in CA not only have bought into the "better an unarmed victim" mentality, but seem to have INVENTED it.

Thanks to all for their advice (well almost all) I'm going to stick to the law and see what the campus allows for carry.
