If I go to Turner's I go to the West Covina store since it's nearby me. I've PPT'd 3 guns there (sold 2, bought 1) and I've bought 2 brand new shotguns from them there. Never any issues with the PPT's (long guns and handguns) and no issues with any DROS or 10 day waits.

The only thing that ever did bother me there was one time the idiot working behind the counter, who was loud and obnoxious, was making it a point to yell out loud enough for the whole store to hear him when he was barely answering my questions and adding in his $.02 along with it. Ironically, I haven't seen him working there since.

i don't normally jump into the Turners threads but this Their response was no because I could be transferring just the lower in "disguise". is about the stupidest thing i have ever heard. this is why i usually don't go to Turners, i have no reason to bash them or anything but it seems like they don't have their together and i'd rather avoid the drama.

Well I'll toss my two cents in. In the last year and a half I've purchase a German/Swiss P228 from them and the transaction went smooth. In the last month and a half I did a PPT with a member here on a 870 marine magnum. The PPT went smooth and when I went to pick it up on a Saturday I arrived at 6:05 pm. They closed at 6:05 pm,, but there were still people in the store. I waited for the employee to open the door and let the last customer out and was told that I'd need to come back another day. I was hot and started the walk back to my truck and the employee said hand on I'll do it. So my props to that W. Covina Employee for helping me out! Btw, whatever happen to Turnersgunslinger/ Matt ?

I've been to the Signal Hill Turners. I wasn't impressed with their customer service. Actually I stood around for 30 minutes browsing and stuff while 2 guys were chit chatting with 1 customer. Not once did they ask if I needed help. Whatever. Fountain Valley is much better.

To the OP, the best place to do a PPT an AR is probably Rifle Gear which is about 15 minutes south on the 405 from Signal Hill.

I bought a 10/22 from the Turner's in Redondo Beach recently and was happy with the service. Every time I have been there they have been curteous and helpful.

BTW, they put with some serious a**holes during the day. When I went to pick up my rifle 4 young men came in in full on homie attire asking to see some "gats"..

I would probably get fired in a day for stating the obvious to these "customers"

Turners in San Marcos, While they are corporate owned I think they do what they can to help out thier customers the best they can. I've bought a few guns there and was always happy with the price and the service I recieved.

Also important to note, a salesman there who I've dealt with for sometime now is the one who told me about Calguns!
I would say your best bet is to try to work with the same guy everytime you go in, that way you build a raport.

As for some other local gun stores, I've found that it's kind of a crap shoot, some guys act like they know it all and you should feel lucky they are taking the time to talk to you and others are very nice and informative, If I get the first kind I just don't deal with that guy anymore, then the "nice" guy gets all my buisness from there on out.

Also, as for prices, I've paid as much as $7 more for a pound of powder from other stores then what turners had the same powder for, thats BS and brings me back to turners again and again.

I go to Turner's in San Bernardino about once a week. I have cash and am ready to buy when I see something I like, but if I do not buy they are nice to me just the same. If it's slow the salesmen will tease me with the new this or that. I wonder if the other stores are as good.

The employees make the store, not the other way around.

I had an out of state transer. Called TUrners Norwalk and for the money they wanted I couldn't afford the gun. Turners in OC, same price AND they had the nerve to tell me they only did transfers because they HAD to. If another customer came in they got served first. This was after they said an out of state transfer was $100, plus the transfer fee, plus the lock, plus some other BS fee.

I called T&A Armory in OC. WOW!!! I'm not an employee, or pimping for them, but the owner went OUT OF HIS WAY to be helpful. WAY less than turners, and they were actually interested!! I have 2 more long guns coming in, both going to their shop. It's a little farther for me to drive but for the GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's well worth it. I MIGHT go back to turners, but I kinda (expletive deleted) doubt it. By treating me like C, they've insured I won't go back for parts, equipment, service. They might be the big dog on the block today, but at this rate they won't be for long.

I have purchased a rife and a handgun from turners and did not have any problems. Today tho, I met up with a fellow calgunner to do a ppt on an ar15 at the Corona store. Because of this thread I called them first to make sure they would do it and we wern't wasting our time. On the phone they told me that as long as it was a complete CA legal rifle with a 10 round mag it would not be a problem. Once we got down there, they told us that they would not be able to do the transfer. I explained what I was told on the phone and they pretty much said since the lower was a Spikes Tactical and they don't stock the brand that they would not do the ppt. So we went across the street to Big 5 and did the ppt without a problem. i will continue to go to Turners if they have a good deal on something, and even to do a ppt on a gun as long as it isn't an ar.

I've been burnt by Turners three times now and this last time trying to do a PPT with e-120 was the straw that broke the camels back. I've had Turners "lose" my guns in their "massive back room". I've had them give me hell about stupid, non-existent restrictions and I've finally had enough of them. Turners, you're dead to me...

We did not have a hate turners thread in a couple of weeks, I was starting to get worried.

Yes, because people start anti-Turners threads for their health...

Despite the fact that there are weekly threads complaining about Turners and their customer service, they still don't get it. You can't polish a turd, and in Turners exemplifies this fact.

That's a bummer for sure but Turner's has come a long way--I mean they
